MSI announces PCIe 5.0 SSDs, and Intel clarifies that the H610 supports dual-channel memory

MSI PCIe 5.0 SSD:

MSI announced a partnership with Qunlian to launch the Spatium Series PCIe 5.0 SSD. The AIC expansion card form PCIe 5.0 SSD shown in the figure uses the group PS5026-E26 master and supports the NVMe 2.0 protocol.

The copper foil label used on this sample is hollowed out in the main control position, which only serves as a display, not the final appearance of the product.

Comparing the PS5026-E26 reference design disclosed by Qunlian, it can be seen that the fixed hole position has been reserved for the additional metal radiator on the PCB, and the location of the power-off protection circuit has been reserved for the future enterprise-level version.

MSI did not publish the official name, specific performance data and time to market of PCIe 5.0 SSD, pceva xiaobian believes that it may be named Spatium M580, according to the flash I/O speed, the final SSD read speed should be 10GB/s (1600MT/s flash memory) or 12.5GB/s (2000MT/s flash memory) or more.

Intel confirms that the H610 supports dual-channel memory:

A false alarm! The entry-level H610 is still good comrade. Intel has just fixed the slideshow message to confirm that the H610 chipset is capable of supporting dual-channel memory.

The original slide on January 5 showed that the H610 only supported 1 memory channel, which was a big surprise. Now Intel confirms that the H610 still supports dual channels, but like the entry-level chipsets in the past, each channel only supports one memory.

That said, the H610 motherboard will not have a model with four DIMM slots. The maximum memory capacity that the H610 can install is half that of the B660, but this is usually not a major bottleneck for entry-level configurations.
