Unlocking mini-games from games such as Wehrmacht Headquarters, Gothic Dynasty, Mass Effect and more have been added to the museum. It is probably the most comprehensive digital unlocking museum in existence.
This is not a game with a plot. In fact, developer Dim Bulb Games explains that the museum's main audience is other game developers and designers.
Johnnemann Nordhagen, designer of Dim Bulb Games, said: "As a game designer, you often find yourself researching how other games do it – it's a great way to get inspired to see what works and what doesn't and understand the problem you're solving. I was thinking, how nice it would be if someone had collected all the references for doing a particular thing in one place. ”
While this compilation is more of a tool for game developers than an entertainment game, it's still a great idea. As the gaming industry gets older, many interesting mini-games become harder to find and play, especially unpopular games. Therefore, creating a museum for future designers and players to preserve specific parts of the game is a great way to preserve history.
While Dim Bulb Games is currently focused on unlocking technology, the designers plan to make more virtual museums focused on different game mechanics in the future.
