Intel appointed former Micron executive David Zinsner as chief financial officer

On January 11, chipmaker Intel Corp. on Monday appointed David Zinsner, the financial director of Micron Technology, as its chief financial officer and executive vice president, according to foreign media Reuters.

Zinsner, who joined Micron in 2018 and will take office on Jan. 17, has more than 20 years of financial and operational experience in the semiconductor and manufacturing sectors.

Meanwhile, Micron appointed chief commercial officer Sumit Sadana as interim chief financial officer and said it was looking for a permanent treasurer.

Affected by the news, Intel shares rose 5.4% in after-hours trading, while Micron shares fell about 2%.

Intel had earlier said chief financial officer George Davis would retire in May.

Separately, the chipmaker said Executive Vice President Michelle Johnston Holthaus will lead its customer computing division, which accounted for more than half of its third-quarter revenue.

Intel said Gregory Bryant, the former head of the division, will leave Intel at the end of January to work elsewhere. He did not provide further details.
