The battlefield flew "lark"

Author‖ Zhang Ying Read aloud ‖ Zhou Shengkai

In the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, the most profound memory of female soldier Liu Yueji was the Battle of Shangganling. The comrades-in-arms went forward and succeeded in the rain of bullets and bullets, born into death, which gave her a great shock to her soul. As a literary and artistic female soldier on the front line of the Shangganling battle, her deeds were reported by the People's Liberation Army Daily and was known as the "lark" of Shangganling.

In April 1950, Liu Yueji fulfilled her wish to join the army, when she was only 15 years old. Fearing that his family would stop him, Liu Yueji secretly followed the troops from his family. Halfway to the road, her mother caught up, and Liu Yueji did not agree to go home with her mother, determined to follow the troops. In order not to let her mother catch up again, she ran and ran to her feet, and her shoes were stained red with blood. On the way, a soldier asked what was wrong with her feet? After learning the reason, he immediately told Liu Yueji: "Ride my horse." ”

After riding a horse for a day, Liu Yueji sighed that this "groom" was really a good person, but everyone laughed loudly. It turned out that where was the "groom" of that soldier, he was Qin Jiwei, the commander of the 15th Army at the time. This episode on the way to join the army has always been unforgettable for Liu Yueji.

Recalling his stubbornness in insisting on joining the army, Liu Yueji said: "A person can not live only for himself, but also for the country. Joining the army can defend my country. ”

Less than a year after Liu Yue joined the army, the 15th Army, which was stationed in Chongqing, received orders to go to the battlefield of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea. At the mobilization meeting, military commander Qin Jiwei said categorically: "All soldiers and soldiers must fight hard to defend their families and defend the country, and sacrifice their lives and forget their deaths." Don't go to the honor book, just paint the martyr's monument! Many soldiers were deeply moved, biting their fingers and writing blood letters to fight.

Two months later, the 15th Army entered North Korea. The commissar gave the regiment a task, "Wherever there are soldiers, there must be songs; wherever the hardest is, there must be where to go!" ”

Liu Yueji followed the literary troupe to the front line, compiling the heroic deeds into a literary and artistic program and encouraging the soldiers to strive for the lead. When marching, the cultural troupe played the allegro, and whichever company came over would sing which company. Liu Yueji wore a small braid at that time, and her comrades-in-arms affectionately called her "little braid", and they liked to take her with them everywhere they went.

Behind the song, there was a brutal and fierce battle. One night, comrades in arms stepped onto the Cheongcheon River Bridge. The U.S. military blocked the bridge deck with fire, and aircraft took turns bombing. Under the bridge were the sappers of the Volunteer Army, half soaked in the water. The enemy planes kept blowing up, and the sappers kept repairing.

The smoke on the bridge deck was thick with gunfire, and after hearing the password of "running forward", Liu Yueji ran after throwing his legs. Enemy planes in the air roared and swooped, and the sound of machine guns and bombs continued. The bomb fell on the center of the river, splashing a thick column of water. When he ran to the end of the bridge, the exhausted Liu Yueji's legs were weak, and he fell to the ground with a "pounce", and the rice bag on his back also rolled down from the hole that had been blown out of the bridge deck. She was so tired that she felt so relieved when she fell, gasping for breath that she really wanted to lie down. A warrior guarding the bridge rushed up and grabbed her: "Are you still alive?" What's the matter, run! Liu Yueji, who was on his toes, had just run for a minute, when the place where he had fallen was blown apart by a cannonball.

Liu Yueji said that he spent time with the soldiers on the front line and was deeply encouraged and inspired by the soldiers. Some of the warriors were burned and wrapped up. Seeing this scene, Liu Yueji was so sad that he couldn't sing, but the soldiers were very optimistic, and they also showed the previous photos to the members of the cultural troupe, "We used to be handsome boys!" ”

"Our lives are equal, I am not more expensive than others, why can people sacrifice, but I can't?" Liu Yueji fell into deep thinking, "Since you came to resist the United States and aid Korea, you must hold the determination to make fearless sacrifices." Fear is a day, and bravery is a day. ”

Everyone wanted to be a hero at that time, and heroes were not even afraid of death, and the sense of honor could make people forget their fears. The warriors are not afraid of death, but to defend their country. Liu Yueji recalled that the warriors did not have much culture, but their ideological realm was very high.

Liu Yueji saw the scene of the most tragic sacrifice of her comrades-in-arms, and it was also a scene that she would never forget, which was in Shangganling.

On October 14, 1952, the Battle of Shangganling, which shocked the world, began. "On the 14th, suddenly the sound of cannon fire continued. At that time, the kerosene lamp could not be lit, and as soon as it was ignited, it was extinguished by the air wave of the bomb. ”

The commander of the 130th Regiment ordered that the three comrades of the Cultural and Labor Corps, Liu Yueji, Wang Ziyi, and Chen Huilin, should be evacuated. "There's going to be a big fight, the 3 of you go back, it's dangerous here."

"Let's go back? In the event of a big battle and retreat, where is the reason? Liu Yueji and the other two resolutely refused to leave. Eventually, she was responsible for taking care of the wounded, and many of the warriors were fine when they went out on the expedition, but when they returned, they were completely unrecognizable. She helped the soldiers write their names, ages, and home addresses on the back of their clothes, wrapping up their belongings and marking them.

During the battle, the 2nd Company Demolition Squad dug an air raid shelter under the enemy's nose. After hearing this, Liu Yueji insisted on going to the air raid shelter to offer condolences, and as a result, there was an accident this time. One night, the enemy aimlessly fired cold artillery, but a shell hit the air raid shelter, the entrance to the cave was buried, and Liu Yueji and his comrades were sealed in the hole. Suddenly, the deputy platoon leader who was still talking and laughing just now was killed on the spot. Another comrade-in-arms had his thigh blown off and blood was flowing, and Liu Yue could not stop the bleeding with three first-aid kits.

After the repair of the bunker, it was already daytime, and everyone could not be exposed to the American planes, so they stayed in the cave all day. One day and one night, the sacrificial warriors lay in the cave, and inside were the wounded warriors.

The wounded comrades showed great perseverance and perseverance, and did not let out a single groan of pain. "He was in so much pain, his lips were purple, and he couldn't stand the pain but didn't scream out." Can he survive, can he stick to the hospital? Liu Yueji clutched the wounded warrior's hand, fearing that he would leave.

During the brutal war, Liu learned to throw grenades, shoot and bandage. In the cold winter, her hands were frozen off the skin, and the nails of both feet were frozen off. On the days when the supply line was blown up, she looked for wild vegetables everywhere to fill her hunger. The troops marched at night, resting during the day, and every day she had to dig a bunker for herself, half a person deep, often with blood blisters on her hands. "I was young at the time, I didn't want anything, I just wanted to throw grenades when I met the enemy. We are not afraid of death, we are afraid of being prisoners, and when we encounter the enemy, we will die together. Liu Yueji said that there is a possibility of sacrifice at any time on the Korean battlefield, but the literary and artistic warriors have shown great bravery.

On October 25 this year, on the 71st anniversary of the Chinese Volunteer Army's war to resist us aggression and aid Korea, a group of volunteers came to Liu Yueji's home to pay tribute to this veteran who experienced the smoke of war: "You are a hero of the country and the pride of the nation. We revere, thank you and admire your feat of standing up and defending your country in a time of national crisis! ”

"Thank you, I'm very impressed." Liu Yueji smiled and returned a standard military salute.
