Apple AR/VR headset intelligent cooling system patent exposure, can be dynamically muted according to the scene

Recently, the United States Patent and Trademark Office published an Apple patent related to the AR/VR headset cooling system, which indicates a silent cooling scheme. It is reported that the patent is called "cooling and noise control of the headset", which focuses on simple design and low volume, and does not interfere with the user's communication with Siri and other systems.

According to Qingting.com, the scheme described in the patent includes a fan and a heatsink, located near the front cover of the headset. In addition, cooling can be achieved by gas or liquid flow, possibly in designs such as pumps, turbines, compressors, blowers, and piezoelectric air thrusters. In terms of muting, the patented solution measures the noise generated by the cooling system in real time and adjusts the fan speed according to the volume to reduce noise.

Interestingly, the solution can detect the surrounding environment through distance sensors, thermal sensors, speech recognition, etc., and alert you to someone entering the boundaries you set by raising the volume of the fan. When it detects that you are talking to people around you, or activating a voice assistant, the cooling system will also lower the volume to avoid disturbing voice communication.
