Russell Lees, veteran screenwriter of the Assassin's Creed series, has passed away, but the exact date has not been announced, the news comes from Ubisoft's narrative director Darby McDevitt, who said Ubisoft has lost a good talent.

Russell Lees joined Ubisoft in 2009 and has worked for Ubisoft for 13 years as a screenwriter and narrative designer, the latest of which is the currently popular Assassin's Creed: The Hall of Heroes, who is responsible for a large number of writings in the Assassin's Creed series, including: Assassin's Creed 3, Gangster, Origin, and Temple of Heroes. He also wrote parts of Watch Dogs 2.

Darby McDevitt said: "We lost a good friend and a wonderful colleague this week. For more than 10 years, screenwriter and narrative designer Russell Lees has been a member of the Assassin's Creed and Far Cry series. All those who worked with him praised his patience, generosity, enthusiasm and sunshine." Several of his current and former colleagues also shared memories of working with him and expressed their condolences.
