Fan Ju of "The Rise of the Great Qin Empire": Designed the national policy but could not design himself

What is history: it is the echo of the past to the future, the reflection of the future on the past. - Hugo

The period of King Zhaoxiang of Qin was a period of strong and great development of the Qin state, especially the proposal of the strategy of long-distance and close-range attack, which enabled the Qin state to accelerate on the road of rapid expansion. The designer of this national policy was Fan Ju, who later became Xiang Guo and was given the title of Ying Hou.

In the early days of his debut, he was depressed for many years

Fan Ju was originally a native of the State of Wei, and in his early years he also lobbied among various princely states to serve the King of Wei, but due to his poor family, he could not help himself, so he could only seek perfection and live in the Middle School of Wei. However, because he followed Xu Jia out of the State of Qi, Xu Jia and the chancellor Wei Qi suspected that he had betrayed the State of Wei, so they humiliated Fan Ju in every way and wanted to put him to death. Fortunately, Fan Ju's life was great, not only did he not die, but he also secretly followed the emissaries of the Qin State to the Qin State. However, at that time, King Zhaoxiang of Qin did not like lobbyists in the world, and Fan Ju was on standby in the Qin State for more than a year.

Seize the opportunity to complete yourself and achieve the Qin kingdom

After a while, Fan Ju looked at the right time and wrote a letter to King Zhaoxiang of Qin, with a sincere attitude and a sincere content, and finally impressed the King of Qin, and was able to meet the King of Qin and expound his governing philosophy to the King of Qin. In response to the decision of the State of Qin to attack the State of Qi at that time, Fan Ju believed that if he crossed the Han and Wei countries to attack the distant State of Qi, even if he won the battle, he would not be able to obtain land, and he would also work hard and hurt the people. In that year, the State of Qi attacked the State of Chu and opened up a land of thousands of miles, but because of the long distance, it not only did not get an inch of land, but also caused civil unrest. It is better to make friends with distant states and attack close neighbors, so that an inch of land is an inch of land, and a foot of land is a foot of land. This is the famous long-distance and close-range attack strategy. According to this strategy, Fan Ju proposed a strategy against Korea and the State of Wei, and a plan of the State of Qin to plot the Central Plains quietly took shape.

Later, Fan Ju, based on the fact that the empress dowager was proclaimed to be in power at that time, and the empress dowager's brother and others controlled the government, he made a statement to King Zhaoxiang, and finally abandoned the empress dowager, and drove the empress dowager's brother and four others to Guanwai. King Zhaoxiang appointed Fan Ju as Xiang and made him the Marquis of Ying, and Fan Ju thus reached the pinnacle of power.

Revenge must be repaid, and personal interests are put above the interests of the country

When Fan Ju was in the State of Wei, he was humiliated by Xu Jia, Wei Qi and others, which made him always hold a grudge. After becoming the prime minister of the Qin Dynasty, he always wanted to take revenge. At the same time that Xu Jia was on an envoy to the State of Qin, Fan Ju disregarded diplomatic etiquette and humiliated Xu Jia in every way, and asked him to send a letter to the King of Wei and hand over Wei Qi's head, otherwise he would send troops to slaughter the capital of the State of Wei. Wei Qi was very frightened when he heard this, and fled to the zhao state Pingyuan Jun's house. When King Zhaoxiang learned of this, he actually helped Fan Ju write a letter to Pingyuan Jun, tricking Pingyuan Jun into detaining him in the Qin state and forcing him to hand over Wei Qi. Pingyuan Jun refused, and King Zhaoxiang wrote to King Zhao again, again threatening to send troops, Wei Qi had no choice but to flee again, but no one dared to take him in, and finally committed suicide by cutting his neck. The State of Zhao sent its head to the State of Qin, and the State of Qin released the Prince of Pingyuan back.

Jealousy of the virtuous, nepotism, and a bleak ending

Bai Qi was the god of war of the State of Qin, and in the Battle of Changping, the army of the State of Zhao was almost completely annihilated, and could have taken advantage of the victory to pursue and capture the capital of the State of Zhao in one fell swoop, Handan, and destroy the State of Zhao. But Fan Ju felt that if this was the case, Bai Qi's credit would exceed his own. He colluded with the State of Zhao to persuade King Zhaoxiang to agree to the zhao state's land and seek peace, and withdrew to Baiqi. Soon, the State of Qin decided to attack the State of Zhao again, but Bai Qi felt that the time had passed and could not win, coupled with his poor health, he was reluctant to fight. Fan Ju continued to say bad things in front of the King of Qin, and eventually the King of Qin would give Bai Qi to death, and a generation of famous people would henceforth return to dust.

Zheng Anping helped Fan Ju escape when he was humiliated, and Fan Ju recommended him to be a general to attack the State of Zhao, only to be surrounded by the State of Zhao, and in a hurry, he surrendered to the State of Zhao with 20,000 people. Wang Ji took Fan Ju to the State of Qin when he was humiliated and recommended him to King Zhaoxiang. Fan Ju recommended him to serve as the sheriff of Hedong County, because of collusion with foreign countries, he was executed, as a recommender, Fan Ju felt that it was difficult to escape the guilt, although King Zhaoxiang of Qin did not blame him, but he always felt unsteady, just a counselor named Cai Ze came to the Qin Kingdom, lobbied Fan Ju, Fan Ju recommended Cai Ze as a minister, resigned from Xiangguo and returned home, and soon fell ill and died at home.
