One of the things Qian Xuesen did to do romantically in the United States was to entrust someone to buy a piano for Jiang Ying so that her musical dream could bloom. But this romance didn't last long, and the darkest time had come.
In 1949, after hearing the news of the founding of New China, Qian Xuesen immediately decided to return to the motherland and use his knowledge to build the country. However, his return to China was prevented by the US government, which put Qian Xuesen under house arrest and accused him of entering the country illegally and being a spy of an enemy country.
That period was Qian Xuesen's darkest moment, and it was also Jiang Ying's darkest moment. In the face of sudden changes, Jiang Ying needs to take care of her two-year-old son and daughter who has just turned a full moon, while running around to rescue her husband. Finally, after 15 days, she collected $15,000 in bail, and Qian Xuesen was released.
But even so, Qian's life was still monitored by the FBI everywhere, and the key moment was when Jiang Ying ventured to send the rescue letter written by her husband back to the motherland, which led to Premier Zhou's proposal to exchange prisoners of war for Qian Xuesen to return to China in 1955 when he attended the Geneva Conference.
At first, the American negotiators refused to admit it, but in front of the rescue letter, they had nothing to say, and finally in 1955, Qian Xuesen returned to the embrace of his motherland.
A generation of legends
But to tell the truth, Jiang Ying, who returned to the motherland, did not experience the warmth of home for long, because the motherland at that time was bursting with vitality for development everywhere, and as a top scientist at that time, Qian Xuesen played a huge role in the construction of national defense forces.
Therefore, as a wife, Jiang Ying had to get used to her husband's frequent disappearances, and every time she went to the Ministry of National Defense to find someone, she got an order that her husband was safe but could not be visited.
Marrying a scientific giant like Qian Xuesen is both Jiang Ying's luck and her misfortune.
