Beijing, January 7 (Xinhua) -- Beijing has accelerated the construction of a software and hardware system with deep integration of vehicle-road cloud network maps, and built the world's first high-level autonomous driving demonstration area. At present, the city has opened a total of 1,000 kilometers of autonomous driving test roads, with a cumulative test mileage of more than 3 million kilometers, and the construction of digital infrastructure has entered a new stage.

Wang Lei, deputy director of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, mentioned the above at the press conference of the Fifth Session of the 15th Beijing Municipal People's Congress on the 7th. He introduced that in the first three quarters of last year, the added value of Beijing's digital economy accounted for 41.7% of GDP, and the current price growth rate was 17.6%; the core industry accounted for 23.0% of GDP, and the current price growth rate was 22.7%, which was significantly higher than the current price growth rate of the city's GDP. The development of Beijing's digital economy has been further accelerated, the benchmark city and smart city construction system have been further improved, and a good start in the "14th Five-Year Plan" has been achieved.

In 2021, Beijing's digital infrastructure construction enters a new stage. The construction of smart city 2.0 has been fully launched, and Beijing has built the world's first high-level autonomous driving demonstration area, accelerating the construction of a software and hardware system with deep integration of vehicle-road cloud network map. The city has opened a total of 1,000 kilometers of automatic driving test roads, with a cumulative test mileage of more than 3 million kilometers; a total of 56,400 5G base stations have been opened, achieving continuous outdoor coverage within the fifth ring road, ranking first in the number of 10,000 base stations in the country; and taking the lead in realizing the application of 5G+8K technology in the whole industry chain.

In terms of digital infrastructure construction, Beijing issued and implemented the "Beijing Data Center Overall Development Implementation Plan" and "Beijing Artificial Intelligence Computing Power Layout Plan" to start the construction of urban super computing power centers. The National Artificial Intelligence Innovation and Application Pilot Zone has been approved for construction, and the number of enterprises settled in the National Cyber Security Industrial Park has reached 196. At the same time, Beijing actively promotes the development of commercial aerospace industry bases and builds and operates China's first low-orbit satellite Internet of Things "Apocalypse Constellation". Promote the formation of a new innovation consortium of meta-universes, explore the construction of meta-universe industrial clusters, and the operating income of software and information service industries has reached a new level of 2 trillion yuan, which is expected to increase by 18% year-on-year, and continue to rank first in the country.

In terms of data value, last year, the Beijing International Big Data Exchange was set up and operated, taking the lead in realizing a new trading model in the country, listing 211 data product and service projects; the city gathered 34.1 billion government affairs data, 116.9 billion social data, and the central and local government coordinated to obtain 1.5 billion pieces of data from national ministries and commissions, supporting 181 application scenarios such as epidemic prevention and control, resumption of work and production; Beijing Health Treasure has provided more than 11.4 billion health status inquiry services for more than 90 million people; 90.2% at the municipal level and 81.8% at the district level. The government affairs matters have been "one network communication office", and the financial data zone has supported the loan service center to complete a loan of 114.5 billion yuan for small and medium-sized enterprises.

In 2021, the construction of the National Service Industry Expansion and Opening Up Comprehensive Demonstration Zone and the Beijing Pilot Free Trade Zone (hereinafter referred to as the "Two Zones") will promote the construction of rules and international development of Beijing's digital economy. The digital trade port initiative proposed by Beijing has received positive responses from more than 20 Chinese and European enterprises; digital consumption has helped the construction of international consumption center cities, 21 projects have been selected as national new information consumption demonstration projects, cultivating 15 information consumption experience centers; Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated to improve the level of industrial chain cooperation and linkage, and the coordinated layout and linkage development of industrial Internet and data centers in the three places are accelerating.

Wang Lei said that in the next step, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology will grasp the development trend and law of the digital economy, actively create a "Beijing model" in the digital age, and accelerate the construction of a benchmark city for the global digital economy.
