China is a big country with many kinds of nationalities, and we often sing: "Fifty-six nationalities, fifty-six flowers, fifty-six brothers and sisters are one." It can be seen from this that in the cognition of all of us, there are fifty-six kinds of Chinese nationalities, but what most people do not know is that there is another race in China called the Wearing Green People, which is Chinese, but is not among the fifty-six nationalities.

Some experts believe that the green people are not actually a nation, it should be just the name of a member group. In the early days, the people who wear green were also called "natives" and "county people", and there are many different titles, but in the later period, they are all collectively called wearing green. Regarding the origin of the green wearer, there are two interpretations in the academic community.
One is that the people who wear green are originally natives of Guizhou, this is because the people who wear green are basically distributed in the prefectures and counties of Guizhou; there is also a widely recognized theory that the people who wear green are actually the people who wear green in the late Yuan and the beginning of the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Yuanzhang sent people to the Yunnan-Guizhou region to suppress bandits, and finally this part of the people chose to stay in Guizhou, and then set up camp in Guizhou, calling themselves the people who wear green, in order to distinguish their identities.
In 1368, Zhu Yuanzhang declared himself emperor and founded the Ming Dynasty, when the Dynasty had just changed dynasties, although the overall situation had been determined, but the Yuan Dynasty and other forces still remained, and in the distant Yungui region, there were liang king Valmi and some strong indigenous residents, the Emperor of Tiangao was far away, Zhu Yuanzhang could not always pay attention to the movements of Yungui.
Coupled with the fact that Valmi, who occupied the southwest at that time, supported the Yuan Dynasty and refused to submit to Zhu Yuanzhang, in order to eliminate domestic troubles, Zhu Yuanzhang decided to rectify the southwest forces. At the beginning, Zhu Yuanzhang played the peace card, that is, sent envoys to consult, but several envoys sent before and after were all killed in the southwest, and Zhu Yuanzhang, angry, decided to use force to solve it.
In 1382, Zhu Yuanzhang appointed Fu Youde, the Marquis of Yingchuan, as the general of Zhengnan and led 300,000 soldiers to the Yunnan-Guizhou region to rectify the local forces, which was the famous incident in history of "transferring the north to conquer the south". In 1384, after only two years, the Yungui forces were eliminated, and the general Zhengnan led his troops to return to the dynasty, but very few people returned this time.
Because the southwest is remote, many mountains and fields have not been developed, and this environment has also led to the rise of rogues and the people are difficult to live in peace, so the accompanying deputy general General Mu Ying stayed in the southwest with 200,000 subordinates, one is to grasp absolute control over this area; the other is that Yungui is in the border area and needs to be garrisoned by soldiers.
At that time, Anshun was the center of Yunnan and Guizhou, so it was also the main stronghold of the Ming army, and now, There is a Tunbao village in Tianlong in Anshun, which is inhabited by the descendants of the Ming Dynasty soldiers who went out on the expedition. The army stayed on the frontier, but also led to the development of the southwest military strength and economy, the local people's life gradually no longer wandered around, but began to live and work in peace and contentment.
With the passage of time, the soldiers gradually integrated into the local life, many people directly married and had children here, settled down, gave up the idea of returning to their homeland, and slowly, the number of green people became larger and larger. At the time of the 2000 census, the number of people wearing green clothes reached 670,000, of which the two counties of Nayong and Zhijin in Bijie had the largest population.
The most emblematic of the culture of wearing green people is their clothing, and the clothes they wear are mostly made of blue and blue fabrics. However, judging from their cultural customs, the shadow of the Han people can also be found in their bodies.
