The relevant person in charge of the exhibition group said in an interview with reporters that the Shiwan potters of this expo will participate in the exhibition with an overall image, focusing on the inheritance, innovation and development of Shiwan pottery, and enhancing the influence of Shiwan pottery with a high-specification exhibit lineup. In order to reflect the highest level and strength of Shiwan pottery at the expo, the copyright bureaus, cultural bureaus, radio and television bureaus, tourism bureaus, sports bureaus and other units of Foshan City and Chancheng District joined forces with six major industry associations in May 2021 to collect excellent works from the Shiwan pottery community with the theme of "Shiwan Ceramics Centennial Achievement Exhibition", and received positive responses from local potters. At this expo, the number of works of ceramic masters at or above the municipal level is large, which not only reflects the highest level of craftsmanship of contemporary Shiwan pottery, but also fully demonstrates the craftsmanship spirit of Shiwan pottery masters. The pavilion will take this year's China Arts and Crafts Exposition as the stage to present the audience with a visual feast of Shiwan pottery culture.

It is understood that the exhibited works are uniformly based on the "work registration certificate" issued by the Guangdong Provincial Copyright Bureau as the "identity card" to replace the previous introduction label, which is also the original move of the exhibiting group.
In recent years, Foshan has been committed to the copyright creation, protection, application and management of arts and crafts, Shiwan pottery is the most prominent category in the field of arts and crafts in Foshan, through the use of copyright to rejuvenate the new vitality of ceramic creation, is the due meaning of Foshan copyright work. This time, the copyright registration of each exhibited ceramic work enhances the artistic value through copyright, and competes on the same stage with the arts and crafts works in other places, which can further highlight the copyright value and artistic charm of Foshan Arts and Crafts.
In this regard, Liu Zenian, a master of Chinese arts and crafts, said that copyright registration for a work of art can effectively prevent the emergence of counterfeit products, enhance the value of works, and make ceramic authors more enthusiastic, and copyright protection can promote the formation of a virtuous circle in the industry. At present, many Foshan potters have begun to take the initiative to apply for copyright protection, and the number of works funded by the same citizen every year is up to 50, while the number of national non-hereditary inheritors and national ceramic masters is not limited by the number of subsidized works.

The artistic creation of Shiwan pottery originates from the folk and is rooted in the folk, and each work is full of thick, rugged, simple and frank aesthetic taste. Its glaze is unique, the glaze is thick and colorful, and the shape is vivid. In terms of technique, the characters are portrayed with unglazed clay "fetal bones" to express human skin, reflecting the artistic effect of "more warmth and humanity than porcelain carving". During the Tang and Song dynasties, the glaze color of Shiwan was mainly blue glaze, and by the Ming and Qing dynasties, Shiwan potters absorbed the glaze color techniques of ru, guan, jun, brother, ding and other famous kilns, and gradually mastered the law of glaze color change, Shiwan dolls gradually formed their own style, in the process of eclectic, good imitation and good creation, became a strange flower in the history of Chinese and even world ceramics, is a traditional folk art rich in local flavor.
In the past 100 years, Shiwan pottery has undergone continuous changes and developments, and has achieved rapid artistic achievements. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China last year, Shiwan potters used clay as the carrier to depict the grand plan of a prosperous China, profoundly interpreted the achievements of Shiwan pottery in the past century, vividly reflected the innovation level and core competitiveness of Foshan pottery, and showed the innovative style and achievements of Shiwan pottery in an all-round and multi-angle manner.
