The new traffic rules are coming! From April 1st, no points will be deducted for speeding within 20%!

Recently, the revised Measures for the Administration of Scoring of Road Traffic Safety Violations were deliberated and passed, and will be implemented from April 1, 2022.

Among them, the illegal demerit has been adjusted:

1

The previous car speeding demerit points of 12, 6, 3, 2, 1 have now been adjusted to 12, 9, 6, 3, 1.

2

In the past, more than 50% of speeding was deducted 12 points, 20%-50% deducted 6 points, and 20% below 3 points were deducted, and after the adjustment, it was mainly for high-speed expressways and ordinary roads.

3

The deduction of points on ordinary roads has been lowered: 6 points are deducted for speeding above 50%, no points are deducted for less than 20%, and no points are deducted for speeding below 20% on high speeds.

It is worth noting that driving a motor vehicle that does not conform to the quasi-driving type has been reduced from 12 points to 9 points; violation of prohibition signs and prohibition marking instructions has been reduced from 3 points to 1 point; driving a motor vehicle has called and answered handheld telephones and other behaviors that hinder safe driving, from 2 points to 3 points. Where the circumstances of the traffic violation are minor and a warning is given, points are waived.

In addition, the new rules introduce measures to reduce points for studying the law. Drivers who participate in the study of road traffic safety laws, regulations and related knowledge and pass the examination, or participate in traffic safety public welfare activities organized by the public security traffic management department, and meet the conditions for deducting points, can deduct points from the accumulated points, and can deduct up to 6 points in a scoring cycle.

At the same time, under the premise of maintaining the management of traffic violations that seriously hinder traffic safety, such as drunk driving, fleeing after traffic accidents caused by casualties, and using forged and altered licenses, the traffic police department has reduced the score of some traffic violations and deleted the points for traffic violations such as driving without placing inspection signs and insurance signs.
