On January 7, Zhichepai learned from foreign media that Volkswagen will launch its popular all-electric model of the 1950s minibus on March 9 , the ID.BUZZ ( it's unclear if this will be its final name ) . The new Volkswagen ID.BUZZ will be the latest model in the automaker's expanding fleet of electric vehicles.

Herbert Diess, CEO of Volkswagen Group, tweeted earlier today that "Legend will return to 1 on March 9, 2022 and share a digital sketch of the electric minivan."
It is reported that the ID.BUZZ will be equipped with the Volkswagen MEB platform. The platform is used in models such as the ID.3 and ID.4, which are popular in Europe. It is likely to obtain the largest battery pack available for an EV platform, with a capacity of 111kWh. Apart from a single picture, Volkswagen officials did not disclose more details about the vehicle. Car publisher Car and Driver believes the van starts at about $40,000 (about 260,000 yuan).

In fact, at the 20217 Detroit Auto Show, Volkswagen launched the concept car of the same name ID.BUZZ. Although after four years, the production version received regular door handles and side-view mirrors in the process, as well as headlights that were legally on the road, its overall appearance is surprisingly similar to that of the concept car.
In addition to the 111kWh battery pack, the concept car is equipped with two electric motors with a total output of 275 kW (368 hp). During the NEDC test cycle, the range was estimated at 600 km (372 mi).
The Volkswagen ID.BUZZ is expected to be launched in the European market in the third quarter of 2022, with the US model delivered in 2023.
