According to historical records, in 606 AD, Yang Zhao left From Chang'an for Luoyang. A few months later, Yang Zhao should return to Chang'an, but Yang Zhao was already infatuated with life in Luoyang. Therefore, he made a request to Yang Guang, hoping that Yang Guang would agree to his stay in Luoyang for a few more days.
However, Yang Guang did not agree, and despite Yang Zhao's several requests, Yang Guang did not waver. Later, Yang Zhao, who was already in poor health, became ill. At that time, the Sui Emperor found a wizard to treat Yang Zhao, and after the wizard studied it, he said that the ghost of Yang Yong, the king of Fangling, was secretly doing something, and it wasn't long before Yang Zhao died. Thinking about it now, the real cause of Yang Zhao's death was probably inseparable from that wizard.
After Yang Zhao's death, Yang Guang could not let go of this matter. In order to commemorate this son who died early, Yang Guang personally wrote a lamentation to Yang Zhao and gave Yang Zhao a nickname, that is, "Yuande". Therefore, later generations called Yang Zhao the Prince of Yuande. Perhaps Yang Zhao's death dealt too much of a blow to Yang Guang, and a month later, Yang Zhao's three children were all crowned princes by Yang Guang.
After that, Li Yuan supported Yang You's smooth ascension to the throne, posthumously made Yang Zhao the Emperor Xiaocheng, and gave the temple the title of Sejong. It can be seen that because Yang Zhao died early, there was such a thing as his father being the crown prince and his son being the emperor.
In 617 AD, Li Yuan rose up in Taiyuan, Shanxi. It didn't take long for him to fight under Chang'an City with a large number of troops, and the Sui Dynasty's Jiangshan could be described as precarious. Later, in order to control the power of the imperial court, Li Yuan made the fleeing Sui Emperor Emperor Taishang. It can be seen that Yang Guang, the Emperor taishang, deserves to be really depressed. Later, Li Yuan supported Yang You to ascend to the throne of God, and slowly exposed his wolf ambitions.
In 617, Yang You officially ascended the throne at Daxingdian. And this year's Yang You was still just a twelve-year-old child. After that, Li Yuan ascended the throne, changed the name of the country to Tang, the temple name to Tang Gaozu, degraded Yang You as the Duke of Guoguo, and put him under house arrest in Chang'an. In 619, Yang You died, and Yang You was only fifteen years old this year.

Some people say that Yang You died of illness, and some people say that Yang You was assassinated. Therefore, there is no accurate statement about the real cause of Yang You's death until today. However, in the records of historical materials, Yang You was not a weak and sick person, nor did it record what disease Yang You suffered from before his death. However, the sudden death of such a large living person is really suspicious.
It is precisely because there are so many confusing doubts about Yang You's death, so many people in later generations have raised many questions about the real cause of Yang You's death. Of course, many people here are just speculating that Yang You died because of the assassination. After Yang You's death, Li Yuan also gave Yang You a lot of face, and was buried in ZhuangLing.
