[Yang Jian, Yang Guang] It is said that there were 2 emperors in the Sui Dynasty, and it is said that there are real emperors, that is, the founding emperor Yang Jian and the subjugated emperor Yang Guang. There is nothing wrong with saying that the Sui Dynasty "died of the second generation".
However, after Yu Wenhua and the rebellion killed the Sui Emperor Yang Guang, there were also several puppet emperors before the establishment of the Tang Dynasty.
[Emperor Gong: Yang You] When Yang Guang was emperor for seven or eight years, the world was in chaos. By the thirteenth year of Daye (617), Li Yuan invaded Chang'an from Taiyuan. In December 617, when Yang Guang was still alive and well, Li Yuan proclaimed Yang You (Yang Guang's grandson) as emperor, and Yang Guang was automatically promoted to Emperor Taishang here in Li Yuan. The following year (May 618), When Li Yuan heard that Yang Guang had died in Jiangdu, he immediately ousted Yang You from power and ascended the throne himself, giving him the national name "Tang".
[Emperor Xiaocheng: Yang Zhao] Yang You was emperor for 177 days, and soon after he stepped down, he died inexplicably (at the age of 15). During Yang You's reign, he did two things. The first was to posthumously appoint his father Yang Zhao (Yang Guang's eldest son) as "Emperor Xiaocheng". In the second case, Yang Guang was posthumously honored as "Emperor Ming" (after Li Yuan came to power, in order to make Yang Guang stink, he posthumously honored Yang Guang as "Emperor Jue").
[Tianshou Emperor: Yang Hao] In April 618, jiangdu mutinied, Yu Wenhua and the front foot killed Yang Guang, and the back foot supported Yang Hao (Yang Guang's nephew) as emperor, and he himself became the chancellor to take charge of the imperial government. Yang Hao was a puppet for 6 months, and he was killed by Yu Wenhua. When Yang Hao became emperor, the national name was "Xu" and the era name was "Tianshou".
[Sui Gong Emperor: Yang Tong] The news of Yang Guang's murder reached Luoyang, and Wang Shichong himself made Xiangguo and supported Yang Tong as emperor, with the era name "Huang Tai". Unwilling to be a puppet, Yang Tong thought of killing Wang Shichong, and after a few months of becoming emperor, he was killed by Wang Shicheng.
Emperor Wuyuan: Yang Zhong: Who is Yang Zhong? Yang Jian, his father, the founding emperor who has always changed dynasties, likes to posthumously honor his father, and Yang Jian is no exception, so he posthumously honors his father Yang Zhong as "Emperor Wuyuan".
The saying of 7 emperors: In the Sui Dynasty, anyone who had an emperor's name was counted, and the number was exactly 7.
The saying of 6 emperors: Some people say that when Yang Hao became emperor, the national name was "Xu", this does not count, then the Sui Dynasty emperors are counted as 6.
