Wang Rengui recalled that he got the news, quickly took the junior high school diploma, walked more than ten kilometers to the county seat of Neixiang to register, and then went home to wait for the notice.

"At that time, being a worker was a very honorable thing, which meant that I was able to jump out of the 'farm'." Wang Rengui said that on the afternoon of September 27, 1956, he received a notice to report to the county with his luggage. That night, his parents prepared him an old quilt, an old sheet, and some pocket money. The next morning, he took a large truck to Xuchang City in Neixiang County, and then transferred to Luoyang.
