Many people think that teachers are like gardeners, working hard, and only then can they have the spring color of the garden full of purple and red. Deng Shitai, a teacher at Luoyang Institute of Technology, believes that teachers are like keys that open the hearts of students; teachers are like lighthouses, guiding students forward.

On Deng Shitai's bookshelf, there is an old book, "Pushkin Lyric Poems", which was translated by the famous poet and translator Mr. Zha Liangzheng, published by Pingming Publishing House in 1955 and printed by Guoguang Printing And Publishing Company.

After the erosion of time, the paper of this poetry collection has long been yellowed, but as long as he sees the elegant binding and touches its rustic cover, Deng Shitai will think of an unforgettable time and a teacher who changed the course of his life.

He was sick, and the teacher made rice porridge for him

Deng Shitai was born in October 1963 in Deng Weizi Village, Popihe Town, Guangshan County, Henan Province. In 1981, he took the college entrance examination and was admitted to the then Luoyang Building Materials Industrial School. From the remote countryside to the ancient capital of the Thirteen Dynasties with rich history and culture, Deng Shitai's excitement has not yet passed, and the troubles of life have followed.

One is not to adapt to the climate. Guangshan County is on the dividing line between the north and the south, and the air is warm, while Luoyang has a dry climate, and if you don't drink water, you often feel dry throat. Within a few days of coming to Luoyang, Deng Shitai began to have nosebleeds, his body was weak and weak, and he walked like cotton.

The second is not to adapt to the diet. Eating pasta every day, so that Deng Shitai, who originally ate rice 3 times a day, was very unaccustomed, in his words, "the cake looks yellow in the eyes, it is hard in the hand, it is astringent in the throat, it is braced in the stomach, it is also golden corn grits, drinking to the mouth and running around, in a few days, the stomach is straight pantothenic acid water."

Less than a month later, Deng Shitai fell ill. After the class teacher Li Guangpu learned of the situation, he rushed to the dormitory to visit him. Listening to Deng Shitai say that he wanted to eat rice porridge and pickles, Teacher Li Guangpu specially ran to the grain store, bought rice with his own food stamps, boiled it in an aluminum pot, and brought it to Deng Shitai's bed.

Seeing the rice porridge, Deng Shitai was like seeing the best food in the world, and he quickly drank a large basin and sweated comfortably. Teacher Li Guangpu's rice porridge is so viscous that it can be picked up and eaten with chopsticks, accompanied by dried salted radish and capers, which are delicious and appetizing.

Under the careful care of teacher Li Guangpu, Deng Shitai's illness gradually improved, and after about 3 months, his stomach slowly became accustomed to pasta.

After getting along for a long time, the teacher became his idol

Deng Shitai was full of gratitude to Teacher Li Guangpu, and felt that Teacher Li was like a loving father who had spent a long time together, and this gratitude turned into worship, and Teacher Li became his idol.

Born in Luoyang in August 1937, Li Guangpu joined the army after graduating from high school in 1954, and was later admitted to the Plaster's Institute of Surveying and Mapping, graduated in 1960, stayed in school as a teacher, and in July 1965 transferred to the Fifth Machine Department (now the Ordnance Industry Group Corporation) to engage in survey and survey work, and his footprints spread throughout Xiang'echuan, Shaanxi, Gansu, Jinyu and other places.

On January 8, 1976, Li Guangpu and his colleagues braved the cold and overcame many difficulties to work in the field for more than 100 days, successfully completing the surveying and mapping task, and providing the necessary information for the preliminary design and construction drawing design of the Henan refinery. In April 1980, Li Guangpu was transferred to Luoyang Building Materials Industrial School to teach.

Teacher Li Guangpu likes to read and write, even in the difficult field work environment, he also insists on reading and writing every day, under his influence, Deng Shitai also likes to read and write.

The "Pushkin Lyric Poems" sent by the teacher

A book of poems that changed his life

In November 1981, Luoyang Building Materials Industrial School chartered a movie in a movie theater in the Shanghai market, and Deng Shitai and his classmates happily squeezed the bus to watch it. Back at the dormitory in the evening, Deng Shitai touched his pocket and said "broken" - a month's meal ticket and cash were gone!

Deng Shi, whose economic conditions are not good, is too stupid, how can he live in the next few days? So he had the idea of dropping out of school. Before dropping out of school, Deng Shitai wrote a letter to Teacher Li Guangpu, pouring out his inner bitterness, and quoting a lyric from the movie "Bashan Night Rain": "I am a dandelion seed, and no one knows my happiness and sadness..."

Two days later, Teacher Li Guangpu boiled a pot of rice porridge, called Deng Shitai to his home, the two people ate and chatted, Teacher Li Guangpu told Deng Shitai about the growth experience of Chinese and foreign celebrities and the story behind their success. Teacher Li Guangpu also gave Deng Shitai a copy of Pushkin's Lyric Poems and said: "Don't worry about financial difficulties, there is me!" ”

A collection of Pushkin's lyric poems immersed Deng Shitai in the ocean of literature. "If Life Deceives You" in the poetry collection makes his mood unable to calm down for a long time.

If life deceives you,

Don't be melancholy, and don't be indignant!

Tolerate when things don't go well:

Believe it, happy days will come.

Our hearts always look forward,

Despite living in the gloomy present:

Everything is temporary, fleeting,

And the one who has passed away will become lovely.

A magical force arose in Deng Shitai's heart. Deng Shitai studied more diligently, and Teacher Li Guangpu saw it in his eyes and was happy in his heart.

Together for more than 40 years, the two have a deep relationship

Due to his excellent grades, after graduating in 1983, Deng Shitai stayed in the school to work in the library. From teachers and students to colleagues, Mr. Li Guangpu always cared about Deng Shitai and encouraged him to use the convenience of the library to read more books and constantly enrich and improve himself.

Under the supervision of teacher Li Guangpu, Deng Shitai passed the exam and obtained the opportunity to study on the job for 3 years. In 1991, in the city's open recruitment of government staff, Deng Shitai was admitted to work in the municipal government office. In 2005, Deng Shitai returned to his alma mater to teach, and Teacher Li Guangpu told him: "Cultivating talents for the country is the responsibility and mission of every intellectual. ”

Today, Mr. Li Guangpu is 85 years old, with clear ears, good health, good mental state, and especially valuable, he can skillfully operate the computer and insist on writing. He often shares current political information, health knowledge or original works with Deng Shitai, and Deng Shitai will also share the articles he wrote with Mr. Li Guangpu. Deng Shitai's new book was published, and Teacher Li Guangpu always looked at the one who was most serious. Together for more than 40 years, the two have a deep relationship.

The famous writer Liu Qing once said: "Although the road of life is long, there are often only a few steps at the critical point, especially when people are young." This sentence is deeply rooted in Deng Shitai's mind, and every time he recalls it, he feels a lot: "At that time, a small act of kindness by Teacher Li changed the course of my life and warmed me for more than 40 years. I will pass on this warmth and infect more people. ”
