preface
The idiom "Shangshan is like water" is familiar Chinese, and very few people can truly understand the mystery of it, and this chapter takes everyone to understand the different "Shangshan is like water".

Chapter VIII
Good is like water. Water is good for all things, and is evil to all, so it is more than the Word. Live in a good place, have a good heart, be kind and kind, speak well and believe, govern well, do good deeds, and move good times. Husbands are indisputable, so there is no special.
Meaning of this chapter
The things that Heaven is best at are like water. Water is good at guiding all things but is in a state of natural inaction, staying in a place that everyone dislikes, and is the closest to the Tao. Living is good at choosing a position, good at contemplation, with a benevolent heart for interacting with people, good at speaking and trustworthy, good at governance for the government, good at doing things to exert talents, and good at grasping the opportunity in action. Because there is no dispute, it will not cause trouble.
Shangshan is like water, which can be said to be the most famous sentence in the Tao Te Ching, which is often hung on the wall by people's mouths, and it is also the most easily misunderstood sentence.
The popular explanation is usually the highest goodness like water. This interpretation is usually influenced by the name Tao Te Ching, which makes it easy to understand the good in adult morality. Moreover, this explanation is also more in line with the mainstream consciousness of society. Kindness belongs to the scope of morality, and what Lao Tzu said, lost morality and then virtue. It is that people often do not obey the way of heaven before they talk about morality to others.
If it is interpreted as the highest goodness is like water, it is understood that Lao Tzu put virtue first, and the core idea of the Tao Te Ching is that human behavior should be observed.
So this explanation doesn't make sense.
Regarding Shangshan Ruoshui's explanation, I think that bruce Lee's explanation is more appropriate than that of a kung fu superstar who studied philosophy at the University of Washington.
Bruce lee
What Bruce Lee meant was that water has no fixed form, and water becomes a cup in a cup and a teapot in a teapot. Water can flow or stand still. We should be like water, my friend. Therefore, water is the material form that can best reflect homeopathy.
Looking at the next few sentences, ju shan is good, this good is the meaning of good, so if the good in the water is interpreted as good, it can better reflect the meaning of the heavens, such as the king of Wen in the poetry sutra, then my interpretation of the good is: What the heavens are best at is like water, which is the explanation that best reflects the original intention of Lao Tzu.
Looking back, the water is good for all things without dispute, and it is evil to all, so it accumulates in the Tao, and what does the people hate?
People go high, water flows low.
What people hate most is that their status is low, and their status is high, so that you can appear to be better than others and can satisfy your desires more.
We always feel that excellent is a good word, in fact, excellent is not that others look stupid in front of you, or live worse than you?
The essence of excellence is the advantage you gain in the comparison, the kind of pleasure you get from the outside world, Schopenhauer said, if a person's happiness, happiness can only be obtained from the outside, then the person's spiritual world must be extremely scarce.
So from the philosopher's point of view, people go to high places, very superficial, very low-level fun.
From dwelling in the good land to moving the good, it is Lao Tzu who follows the trend of the water to guide people how to follow the trend in life, and finally Lao Tzu uses the water close to the heavenly path to guide people how to do it.
Don't compare yourself with others, be a noble person, be a person who is out of low-level interests. In this way, we can get rid of our troubles and become a truly happy person.
