According to reports, the resolution of OVB0B is 200 million pixels (16384 x 12288 pixels), and its pixel size is 0.61μm. OVB0B's unique 16-unit merge technology delivers premium video and preview quality in 12.5-megapixel mode, especially in low-light conditions. The OVB0B is also the first 200-megapixel image sensor with an entire area that can be used for phase detection autofocus using QPD (Four Phase Detection) technology.

"Consumers demand higher resolution and higher quality photo and video shooting capabilities. As a leader in image sensor technology, we have applied PureCelPlus S chip stacking technology to significantly take the main camera in the mobile market to the next level," said Arun Jayaseelan, Marketing Manager at OMNIVISION, "With the new OVB0B, we can now deliver the industry's highest resolution and best-in-class low-light performance for high-end smartphones in a small package." ”

The OVB0B features the industry's first 16-cell binning for 4K2K video, and its sensitivity is 16 times that of comparable products. In low-light environments, 12.5 MEGAPI performance and 2.44 m pixel-equivalent pixel size can be achieved using a 4×4 pixel combination. The OVB0B also supports 50-megapixels per second (fps) and 8K video at 30 fps with 1.22 m equivalent performance. The OVB0B also supports 3 reexposes HDR with 12.5 megapixel photos output at 30 frames per second.

"The launch of a 200-megapixel image sensor product for smartphone cameras promises to capture amazing details in images to meet the needs of smartphone vendors who are actively seeking to differentiate their devices through enhanced cameras equipped with high-resolution image sensors. We estimate that more than 40 million image sensors with a resolution of 100MP will be shipped to smartphone vendors in 2022," said Jeffrey Matthews, senior analyst at Strategy Analytics.

According to reports, OVB0B supports CPHY, DPHY and dual DOVDD (1.8V and 1.2V). Samples of the OVB0B are available now.
