Midea accelerates the transformation of To B The building technology business has made Europe its second home

Midea Group (000333. Guan Jinwei, vice president of SZ) and president of Midea Building Technology, said in an interview with the media during the building technology conference that the slowdown in the real estate market has gradually seen the "ceiling" of the traditional home appliance business, and Midea is accelerating its expansion from the To C business to the To B business, of which the building technology business will regard Europe as the second home outside the Chinese market.

Guan Jinwei said that from the perspective of the Chinese market, in the past, the home appliance industry has been eating the dividend of rapid growth of real estate, and this dividend will slowly disappear in the future, and the future growth space must be developing in the direction of To B. Midea's expansion of the central air-conditioning business into a building technology business is also to see ge, Siemens, Panasonic, Toshiba and other companies from To C to To B in the past, and this road can be opened.

The central air conditioning business, which recovered and developed rapidly in 2021, is expected to slow down in 2022. Zhou Xing, general manager of Midea's building technology domestic marketing company, said that midea's central air conditioning has a relatively high proportion of the civil building market, and this year hopes to make up for shortcomings in other market segments such as industry; the elevator business has a "multiplication plan"; and smart buildings hope to create iconic model projects.

"In 2022, Midea Building Technology hopes to continue to maintain steady growth in 2021, whether it is domestic or export," Zhou Xing said. Guan Jinwei revealed that he hopes to position Europe as the second home, because Midea has acquired the Italian central air-conditioning company Clivet in Europe, and will next cover the entire European market with this brand, and will set up a localized production, research and marketing integration team.

In terms of domestic sales, the localization of central air conditioning in data centers, rail transit and other projects has brought opportunities. Guan Jinwei said that in the computer room collection of several major chinese communication operators, Midea has achieved a large share. Midea's magnetic levitation centrifuges shipped more than 1,000 units last year.

In addition to selling central air conditioners and elevators, Midea's building technology has turned more to providing low-carbon smart building solutions. In this new field, there are not only competitors of foreign brands, but also companies such as Alibaba and Huawei. Guan Jinwei said that Midea is a provider of integrated hardware, software and control solutions, and has formed a competitive relationship with its opponents, such as competition and cooperation with Huawei.

China's buildings are developing in the direction of low-carbon and intelligent, such as integrated energy stations, customers need more efficient energy supply models, industrial solutions in the study, hospital programs in the pilot, but also looking for cooperation, such as Schneider to do electrical, Midea to do refrigeration, the formation of a combination of solutions.

Xu Wei, president of the China Academy of Building Research and the Institute of Built Environment and Energy, revealed that the national Zero Carbon Building Technology Standard is expected to be approved or published at the end of 2022. To achieve the double carbon target, the construction industry must not only formulate a zero-carbon implementation schedule for new buildings, but also carry out energy-saving renovation of existing buildings, such as rural buildings in northern heating areas, and also use new energy sources such as photovoltaics and wind power.

Min Wanli, founder of North Peak Capital and Kunzhan Technology, said that the energy consumption of the whole process of buildings has long accounted for about 45% of the country's total energy consumption, and the scale of construction installation investment in new green buildings will reach 4.3 trillion yuan in 2022, plus there are 30 billion square meters of building energy-saving renovation market in the country, and green buildings have become a potential investment area.
