Judging from the comparison of the reigns of these three emperors, the reign time of Kangxi Qianlong is only one year apart, one reigned for 61 years, one reigned for 60 years, in contrast, Yongzheng only became emperor for 13 years, why did Yongzheng only serve as emperor for more than ten years before he died? This is related to his excessive busyness with government affairs, and during yongzheng's reign, all big and small government affairs were concentrated on him alone. In order to deal with tedious political affairs, he only rested for 4 hours a day, and for 13 years he continued to work uninterruptedly, which made his body bear a great load. Although he also gave up political rest on some specific days, such days of rest in the year were only three days: birthday, New Year's Day, and winter solstice.
Emperors who worked so busily had few other examples among the emperors of successive dynasties. It can be said that compared with Kangxi Qianlong, who made the Qing Dynasty's national strength stronger through decades, Yongzheng only took 13 years to complete the same time work. Speaking of the cause of Yongzheng's death, according to relevant records, the symptoms at the time of his death were very similar to the symptoms of cerebral hemorrhage, from which it can be inferred that he died of cerebral hemorrhage caused by overwork.
From another point of view, the ancient emperors were busy with their work and did not consume energy. The emperor is more about approving the folds submitted, and the folds are there every day, but in general, the folds are often small things, and the emperor does not need to spend a lot of effort on this. Kangxi Qianlong reigned for so long, and he also handled political affairs well, and Yongzheng took the throne, and it was unlikely that political affairs would suddenly increase. Perhaps Yongzheng cared about too many things, and the emperor wanted to control all aspects of things, and he did everything himself, so it was really difficult to have a time to rest. One theory is that Yongzheng died violently at the age of 58 only because he took a elixir that could prolong his life. These refined elixirs have a high content of heavy metals, and long-term use has caused him to fall into chronic poisoning, and finally violent death is also excusable.
From the example of Yongzheng, it can be seen that a diligent emperor does not necessarily have good political achievements, and if an emperor is not diligent, it is difficult to achieve good political achievements. The emergence of the prosperous kangqian, Yongzheng's diligent work played an important role in promoting, without Yongzheng's hard work, perhaps the Qing Dynasty would not have a prosperous era. Kangqian's prosperity seems to be mainly the credit of Kangxi Qianlong, but in fact, Yongzheng's credit may be the greatest.
