When Sony unveiled the Vision-S electric concept sedan at CES 2020, everyone hoped it wouldn't just be a show car, after all, the Vision-S looks ready for mass production.

At 2021CES, Sony unveiled its second electric concept car, the Vision-S 02 SUV.
Although the original concept car was four seats, at CES, this electric concept SUV became a 7-seater, which made it more practical.
The Vision-S 02 SUV uses the same EV/cloud platform as Vision-S, and the similarities between the two are obvious because of the same design language. However, in terms of size, the Vision-S and Tesla Model 3 are comparable, while the Vision-S 02 SUV is comparable to the Tesla Model Y.
The Vision-S 02 is 4895mm long, 1,930mm wide, 1,650mm high, has a wheelbase of 3,030mm, has 20-inch wheels and weighs about 2,480 kg. The Vision-S 02 has exactly the same length and wheelbase as the Vision-S and is equipped with the same air suspension, but the new concept car has a larger ground clearance of 15.7 centimeters, nearly 2.5 centimeters more than a sedan.
The dashboard design inside is also very similar to that of the Vision-S 01, consisting of three huge displays. On the left is the dashboard, in the middle is the main interface of the infotainment system, and on the right is for the entertainment of the front passengers (the second row of passengers also has two additional displays available).
Like the Vision-S 01, the Vision-S 02 has gadgets such as seat speakers that can be combined with the "360 Reality Audio" compatible streaming service and a fully integrated digital video service called "Bravia Core for Vision-S" to share or enjoy video playback separately on the front panoramic screen and separate rear display.
In-car entertainment also includes the ability to play PlayStation games by remotely connecting to a console in your home, as well as the ability to play streaming games via the cloud.
Sony's Vision-S models are equipped with a range of sensors that provide a 360-degree view around the vehicle. These sensors include highly sensitive, high-resolution, wide-dynamic range CMOS image sensors and LiDAR sensors that accurately sense three-dimensional space. Sony said it is currently conducting functional verification tests in Europe with a view to releasing a Level 2+ Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) on public roads.
The Sony Vision-S 02 is equipped with an all-wheel drive supplied by two electric motors, one mounted on the front axle and the other driving the rear wheels, each producing 268 horsepower (200 kW).
The car's acceleration data has not yet been released, but it is said that the acceleration time of 0-100 km/h may be longer than the 4.8 seconds required for the Vision-S 01, mainly because the Vision-S 01 is 130 kg lighter. In addition, the higher weight also has a negative impact on the top speed, which is about 180 km /h, and the top speed of the Vision-S 01 sedan is 240 km / h.
Sony has not admitted to entering the electric vehicle market, but the Vision-S 01 prototype has been tested on the road since the electric concept was released last year.
