Dongfeng Group Co., Ltd. (00489) announced that Dongfeng Honda signed an investment agreement with Wuhan Economic Development Zone on January 5 for a new electric vehicle plant project.
Dongfeng Honda Motor Co., Ltd. new energy plant is located in Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone. Production is scheduled to begin in 2024 with an initial base annual production capacity of 120,000 units.
The project is Honda's first new energy benchmark factory in the world, which will provide strong support for Dongfeng Honda's electrification transformation. After the completion of the project, it will have a complete process of electric vehicle production such as stamping, welding, painting, assembly, vehicle inspection, etc., and will introduce the latest automation technology in welding, assembly and other processes, aiming to become an efficient and digital factory with industry-leading automation level. The new plant will also make full use of renewable energy sources such as solar power generation to strive for future carbon neutrality.
In addition, measures such as water recycling will be used to conserve resources, and the emission of atmospheric pollutants such as VOCs will be minimized and sustainable development will be actively promoted.
In order to achieve the goal of carbon neutrality in 2050, Dongfeng Honda will accelerate the launch of new electric vehicle products and build a stable electric vehicle production system to provide more customers with high-quality and unique electric vehicles and create a new mobile experience.
