Liu Hongjian was deeply impressed by the style of Naizu running schools to help the poor, and after serving as the inspector of Ganyu in 1928, he single-handedly built 30 schools in the county, allowing many children to study in the new school. In addition to the eldest grandson Liu Hongjian, Liu Yihuai's fourth grandson Liu Hongdu, fifth grandson Liu Hongjun, sixth grandson Liu Hongduan, eighth grandson Liu Hongtu, and tenth grandson Liu Hongbin returned to their hometown to teach after graduating from normal school.
