On January 1, the new library of the Municipal Library and the Municipal Children's Library was officially opened after several months of construction. On the morning of January 1, the reporter came to the first floor of the new library of the municipal library, and entered the hall of the municipal library after measuring the body temperature and scanning the itinerary code, and the spacious venue and clean environment made people shine. The reporter went up the escalator directly to the third floor, where there was a reading sharing hall and a newspaper reading room. The reporter saw that many citizens had already heard the news and borrowed books from the new library of the city library. Rows of neat shelves are lined with books of all kinds, and in front of the seats, readers of all ages are reading carefully. The reporter continued to walk along the escalator to the fourth floor, where there is a local literature special reading room, a small and medium-sized library, a newspaper library, and a 321 audition public welfare class. On the fourth floor promenade, the reading sharing hall on the third floor has a panoramic view. Looking down at the reading sharing hall, the mood of the reporter can be described as "shocked".
The reporter learned that the area used by the municipal library is 22121.07 square meters, and the area used by the municipal children's library is 10292.25 square meters. The area used by the Municipal Library and the Municipal Children's Library has increased by more than 10,000 square meters compared with the original. From the perspective of floor layout, the Municipal Library is located on the south, third and fourth floors of the first floor, and the Municipal Children's Library is located in the north and second floors of the first floor. From the perspective of functional layout, the new library of the municipal library has set up 15 windows, namely professional reading room, ancient book protection center, multimedia reading room, reading sharing hall, newspaper and periodical reading room, youth reading room, local literature reading room, love reading room, lecture hall, multi-functional hall, exhibition hall, etc.; the existing functional areas of the municipal children's library are 9, which are comprehensive borrowing area, youth borrowing area, reading promotion area, newspaper and periodical reading area, digital experience area, visually impaired service area, low-childhood picture book area, self-study area and small theater. It is more convenient for citizens and friends to experience and read.

The construction of the new museum is not only an increase in the area of use, but also a richer collection of books and functional configurations. In the reading sharing hall of the Municipal Library, Ren Yanxu, an 8th grade student at Guanghua Middle School, is using an independent borrowing machine to return books under the guidance of volunteers. "In the past, in the old museum, books were returned through manual borrowing, and on weekends, many people needed to queue up, and now it is very convenient to borrow and return books completely through the smart terminal!" Jiang Tingfang, head of the municipal library, told reporters that the number of readers has now increased from the original average of 2500 person-times per day to an average of 6000 person-times per day, and the scale of the collection can be increased from more than 1.3 million to more than 4 million volumes.
"Our city's children's library has added some functional areas on the basis of the original function - a new service area for the visually impaired to provide better and more intimate services for the visually impaired special groups; a separate digital service area, including intelligent experience devices such as VR and AR, using virtual reality technology to provide interactive and interesting intelligent experiences; an independent small theater and activity classroom to facilitate the development of reading promotion activities; a separate low-grade picture book area to facilitate the development of graded reading activities; a separate newspaper and periodical reading area. It can accommodate 100 reading seats and a study area with about 300 seats. The diverse configuration meets the different learning needs of readers, allows readers to enjoy the ocean of knowledge, and also makes the children's library a collection, ordering and transmission center for children's literature information in our city, an organization center for large-scale reading activities, and a business counseling research and collaboration coordination center. Deng Hongfeng, director of the Municipal Children's Library, said.
