On May 11, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced the 383rd batch of "Announcement on Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products". Among them, there are models such as the BYD Seal X, Formula Leopard Leopard 8, and Jiyue 07, which have already been unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show, as well as new models such as the VOYAH Soulmate, which made their debut. Covering off-road, sports, and household styles.

The BYD OCEAN-M concept car unveiled at the auto show, its production version "Seal X" was officially declared; Formula Leopard Automobile ushered in the second model Leopard 8, which is directly benchmarked against the tank 700; Jiyue's second car, Jiyue 07, in terms of size and positioning, is undoubtedly another "blocking Xiaomi" existence......

Blocking Xiaomi, another one?

Just listed, less than 200,000 Zhiji L6 is regarded as a strong enemy of "blocking Xiaomi", but I didn't expect another one to come soon.

At the 2022 Guangzhou Auto Show, Jidu Automobile, which is now Jiyue, officially unveiled its second model, ROBO-02, a pure electric sedan. At the end of last year, this car finally ushered in new progress and was officially named "Jiyue 07".

The length, width and height of the Jiyue 07 are 4953 mm*1989mm*1480mm, and the wheelbase is 3013mm, positioning it as a medium-sized sedan. The length, width and height of Xiaomi SU7 is 4997mm*1963mm*1455mm, and the wheelbase is 3000mm, and the two cars are very close in size. 

At present, the three Jiyue 07 models that have been declared are 200kW single motor with lithium iron phosphate/ternary lithium battery version and dual motor comprehensive power 400kW ternary lithium battery version. In comparison, the Xiaomi SU7 rear-wheel drive version has a maximum power of 220kW, and the four-wheel drive version has a maximum power of 495kW.

Although other parameters about this car have not yet been announced, with reference to Jiyue 01, the three parts of the 800v platform, intelligent cockpit and intelligent driving should be consistent with the level of Jiyue 01, and Jiyue's PPA intelligent driving function is expected to be available nationwide when Jiyue 07 is listed.

Now that it has been officially declared, it is expected that this car will not be far from being listed. Finally, in terms of price, it is expected to be lower than the Xiaomi SU7 of 215,900-299,900 yuan, otherwise it will be difficult to grab the current market. If you observe the recent media reports and manufacturers' press conferences, you can find that the pure electric car is no longer compared with the Tesla Model 3, but the Xiaomi SU7.

This phenomenon shows at least two things, on the one hand, there are really not many products that can be called "phenomenal" products in the pure electric car market for so many years, so that the Model 3 has been "benchmarked" until now, and the emergence of Xiaomi SU7 has finally brought some freshness to this market; On the other hand, Xiaomi SU7 won 100,000 orders and huge traffic in one go, even if it is still a harmonious atmosphere on the surface, many car companies should not be able to sit still.

Therefore, in this environment, "targeting" Xiaomi's products and prices will also follow, and it is still unknown whether Xiaomi can bear it.

When it comes to Tesla, there is also a Tesla product in this batch of declarations, which is a high-performance all-wheel drive version of the refreshed Model 3 that has been pre-sold before. 

According to the declaration information, this car is equipped with dual motors, with a comprehensive maximum power of 402kW, the fastest 000 acceleration time given on the official website is 3.1 seconds, and the range is 623 kilometers. The current pre-sale price is 335,900 yuan, and deliveries are expected to start in the third quarter of this year.

Tesla is still its own product and pricing model. Presumably, with Tesla's brand influence, it will not worry about selling in a short period of time, but from the perspective of long-term growth, Tesla, which has not been producing new cars, may only hope that FSD can be landed in China as soon as possible.

Who is justified in the off-road oil and electricity dispute?

At the 2024 Great Wall Motors General Meeting held some time ago, Wei Jianjun, chairman of Great Wall Motors, made a statement on electric off-road, which caused a lot of controversy. In Wei Jianjun's view, electric vehicles are actually very dangerous to do off-road.

At present, the domestic off-road vehicle field can be roughly divided into two schools, one is the off-road vehicle represented by the Great Wall, fuel or "oil-based" hybrid architecture; The other is an off-road vehicle represented by BYD, which is pure electric or with an "electric-based" hybrid architecture.

In this batch of declarations, there are also some off-road models.

BYD's Formula Leopard Leopard 8 has been unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show, and this time it is officially on the application list. This car is the second model of the Formula Leopard brand, and it is positioned higher than the previous Formula Leopard Leopard 5. The length, width and height of the new car are 5195mm*1994mm*1875mm, and the wheelbase is 2920mm.

The new car will be equipped with BYD's DMO hybrid system, using a 2.0T engine + front and rear dual motors, with a combined power of more than 500kW. In addition, the new car will also be equipped with the Yunnan-P body control system.

And judging from the declaration map, the new car will also be equipped with the same intelligent driving hardware such as lidar as the Yangwang U8. In terms of selling price, although it will not reach the million-dollar level of looking up to U8, it is expected that the price will be around 500,000 yuan.

The direct opponent of this car may be none other than the Great Wall's tank 700 Hi4-T. In the end, which off-road is more "correct", you can first see how to choose in the market.

The new car declared by the Great Wall here is a fuel version of the Haval Raptors. In October last year, the Haval Raptor Hi4-T version was officially launched, and the fuel version declared this time uses a 2.0T engine with a 9DCT dual-clutch gearbox and is equipped with a four-wheel drive system.

In terms of price, referring to the current starting price of 165,800 yuan for the Haval Raptor Hi4-T version, the price of the fuel Raptor is expected to be around 140,000-150,000 yuan. The price is about the same as that of the Jet Traveler starting at 139,900 yuan, but the entry-level version of the Jet Traveler is a 1.5T + two-wheel drive power combination.

BYD's "small steel cannon" is finally here

At the Beijing Motor Show, BYD unveiled a concept car called OCEAN-M. This sporty "little steel cannon" has attracted a lot of attention.

I thought it was still an unattainable concept car, but I didn't expect it to be on the declaration list just after the auto show. The hatchback launched by BYD may be named "Seal X", and the alternative names are "Seal 06GT", "Seal MINI" and "Seal 05EV".

Although this is not BYD's first hatchback, it should be the first to take the sporty "small steel cannon" route. But it should be noted that compared with the small steel cannon in the past, this car is much larger, with a length, width and height of 4630mm * 1880mm * 1490mm, and the wheelbase is 2820mm, which can be regarded as a "big steel cannon". For reference, the Volkswagen Polo is only about four meters long, the Ford Focus hatchback is about four meters long, and the larger Honda Civic hatchback is not more than four meters six.

In terms of power, the currently declared seal X are all pure electric versions, with a total of single motor 160kW/165kW, dual motor comprehensive 310kW three versions, it is expected that the maximum power of the four-wheel drive version of the model can exceed 400 horsepower, and the performance is still worth looking forward to.

However, it is a pity that in the few versions that have been declared so far, there is no sports package, large surround and large rear wing like the concept car. If you can launch a separate "RS" series belonging to BYD, it may also be a good choice.

Another "Chinese" car is coming

At the VOYAH Spring Technical Communication Conference before the Beijing Auto Show, VOYAH announced that it will work with Huawei to build a pure electric SUV. Judging from the silhouette released at the press conference, this pure electric SUV is the "bosom friend" of VOYAH's declaration this time.

Judging from the declaration information, the length, width and height of VOYAH are 4725mm*1900mm*1636mm, and the wheelbase is 2900mm, positioning a medium-sized pure electric SUV, which is smaller than VOYAH Free in size.

A total of 6 versions of this car have been declared, and the main differences are the powertrain, battery material and front face design. In terms of power, the new car is available in three options: 215kW/230kW and 320kW dual motors.

Previously, at the press conference, VOYAH CEO Lu Fang said that this car will be equipped with "the industry's strongest three electrics, VOYAH's strongest cockpit, and the world's strongest intelligent driving", which is designed for young families.

However, judging from the information and photos provided in the declaration, this car is not equipped with lidar. However, this does not rule out the possibility of launching a smart driving version in the future.

There are actually more models to watch in the announcement than mentioned in the article. In previous years, the car market after the auto show usually "quiet" for a while, because new cars will be unveiled before or during the auto show, but now it seems to have changed.

On the one hand, car companies really don't like to join in the excitement of the auto show, but maintain their own publicity rhythm, and release them together during the auto show, which is sometimes easy to be buried by traffic.

On the other hand, there are too many new cars now, whether it is the number of manufacturers, brands or models, and driven by intelligence, the speed of new car updates and iterations is also faster, so that many new cars are released throughout the year.

It can be said that there is hardly any market segment that can still be a blue ocean. The competition in the auto market in the second half of the year will only become more intense.
