Black cotton jackets, cargo pants, cargo boots... For Wu Yidan and Zhao Jing of the Yangzhou Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, this is the "standard" of their winter, "how convenient to wear, how to warm how to wear." In the past, we still had white clothes, but later found that we couldn't wear them on the construction site, and they were dirty when they rubbed them, and now the clothes are mainly black. ”

Wu Yidan was born in 1996, a wuxi girl; Zhao Jing was born in 1995, a Henan girl, both of whom are "post-95s".

Because of their dreams of archaeology, they came to Yangzhou and became the "only two" female archaeologists of the Municipal Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology.

Wu Yidan entered the Institute of Archaeology in 2019. Since junior high school, Wu Yidan has had an "archaeological dream" and is determined to become a female archaeologist. Now, she is moving step by step towards her dream. "I started archaeology in the construction site since my freshman year, because the university is in the north, and I study more on the model of archaeological discoveries in the north. After coming to Yangzhou, I found that there was a big difference, almost from scratch, so let's go forward steadily. ”

In a deep pit 3 meters deep from the surface, Zhao Jing was cleaning up a clay pot, "Cold, not only the temperature on the ground is low, there is water vapor underground, but also cold air upwards." ”

Zhao Jing, who graduated from Shandong University, entered the Institute of Archaeology in 2020, "Before applying for the archaeology major, in my impression, archaeology should be like what is written in the novel book, there are many major discoveries, exquisite artifacts, and even imaginary very exquisite organs and magnificent underground palaces, but later found that this is not the case." For a period of time after recognizing "reality", Zhao Jing felt that she was "deceived". But she added, "I don't regret it. If you regret it, you will not continue to apply for graduate school in archaeology. ”

Archaeology is open all year round, with no weekends and holidays. Only when "weekend + heavy rain" is a rare rest day for Wu Yidan and Zhao Jing. The two "post-95" girls converged on the sharp edges that should have bloomed at this age, reading, running, and occasionally chasing dramas, becoming a small blessing in their lives.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of modern Chinese archaeology. The two "post-95" girls, like countless predecessors, on the way to visit the ancient roots, green lanterns and yellow scrolls, brush and shovel, with their young hands, whisk away the dust of history, and run to the future they yearn for with love.
