Morgan Stanley: Tesla production is expected to reach 2 million units in 2022

The analyst said he thinks Tesla's production could reach 2 million this year for two reasons.

The first is Tesla's growth trend in the fourth quarter of last year: deliveries reached 308,600 units, up 71% year-on-year and 28% month-on-month. In the context of the automotive industry generally facing a serious shortage of parts supply, this growth rate is extremely eye-catching for Tesla.

The second reason is the company's upcoming new plant. After a year of construction, Tesla's factories in Austin, USA, and Berlin, Germany, are about to start production this year. Jonas expects that once the two factories achieve the highest capacity, Tesla's annualized production will rise from just over 1 million at the end of 2021 to nearly 3 million.
