Sony announced the entry of electric vehicles, emphasizing that safety is the first priority

Bloomberg reported on Jan. 5 that Sony CEO Kenichiro Yoshida on Tuesday announced the formation of Sony Mobility Inc. at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) to work on commercializing Sony's electric vehicles.

Speaking at a pre-CES press conference, Yoshida reportedly said: "We are exploring the commercialization of Sony's electric vehicle business. In addition, Sony also released a prototype of an SUV-type electric vehicle at the meeting. "This SUV is a top priority for safety, with a total of 40 detection sensors installed inside and outside the vehicle to ensure passenger safety," Yoshida said. ”

Sony had unveiled its prototype, the Vision-S, at CES in 2020, which was designed in collaboration with participants including Magna and Bosch.
