Robert Ford, President and CEO of Abbott Corporation, delivered a keynote address at the International Consumer Electronics Show

In his speech, Abbott announced that it is developing a new bio-wearable device called Lingo that can transform the body's unique language into practical data to help users track and measure their overall health. The device's sensor technology will track a variety of key human signals, such as glucose, ketone bodies and lactate levels, enabling measurement of alcohol levels in the body in the future.

Rofude added: "It's more like a window into your body. At any time, you can use technology to understand the body and its needs. Our vision is to put Lingo far beyond today's wearables, helping users proactively manage their health, nutrition and athletic performance. ”

The launch of Lingo will expand Abbott's portfolio in sensing technologies. As early as 2014, Abbott was the first to apply this technology to diabetes management, pioneering the use of a small sensor that implanted a probe painlessly into a patient's upper arm for glucose monitoring. At the event site, Abbott also demonstrated the FreeStyle Libre 2, which brings a more convenient life to patients. In 2020, Abbott released the Abbott Libre Sense Glucose Motion Biosensor in Europe. Lingo was designed to reach more people with glucose monitoring technology to help them manage their weight, improve sleep, enhance physical fitness and boost their brain power.

In addition to the glucose data, Abbott hopes to make Lingo a device that can measure more biomarkers. As a result, the company is developing technology to continuously track ketones and use dieting and weight loss-related insights to help understand exactly what factors contribute to the body's ketosis status. At the same time, lactic acid monitoring technology is also being used to continuously monitor the accumulation of lactic acid generated during exercise to help improve athletic performance.

In addition to providing Abbott sensors that have a profound impact on humanity, Abbott is helping people from all walks of life manage their health more effectively and easily through personalized technology, unleash the unlimited potential of life, and freely enjoy a healthier and better life.
