According to the Boston Globe, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is investigating four cases of infant hospitalizations for consuming formula produced by Abbott, including one infant death.

The FDA noted that one of the cases involved Salmonella and three involved Cronobacter sakazaki, a rare and dangerous bacteria that can cause bloodstream infections and other serious complications, and that in four complaints, one of the babies died of a Cronobacterium infection.
U.S. health officials have warned parents not to use these three milk powders on the 17th, and Abbott has destroyed the batch of products because of the presence of Cronobacteria.
The official also informed how to check if it belongs to this batch, check the number at the bottom of the container:
● The first two digits of the product code are numbers 22 to 37.
● The code on the container contains K8, SH or Z2.
