Liu Zhidan's killer was captured, and Xu Xiangqian was released to pay for the road, and lived to the age of 87

Speaking of Liu Zhidan, many people know that he was one of the leaders who created the Soviet region in northern Shaanxi, and it was he who created the base area in northern Shaanxi that gave the main force of the Red Army, which once planned to leave the Soviet Union and Central Asia, have a foothold, otherwise our revolution will face more ups and downs. However, such an important figure was killed in a battle by a unit of the Jin Sui Army of the Shanxi warlord Yan Xishan, whose commander was Shi Zebo, known as one of the "Thirteen Taibao of Yan Xishan".

Liu Zhidan, one of the main founders of the Northwest Red Army and the Northwest Base Area

Shi Zebo's ancestral home is Xianxian County, Hebei Province, the family has been a doctor for generations, Shi Zebo could have become a famous doctor, but like many people in his generation, he felt that joining the army was a good way, so in his youth, he threw himself into the Army and applied for the Baoding Military Academy (President Jiang, Li Zongren, Bai Chongxi and others were his alumni).

After graduating, Shi Zebo participated in the Northern Expedition and later entered the Jin Sui Army and became a subordinate of the Shanxi warlord Yan Xishan.

[Shi Zebo, Yan Xishan's most proud general, was later disgusted by Yan Xishan because he was captured, and forced him to organize a group of captured officers and men to form a "Snow Shame Regiment" to attack our army.

In 1935, Liu Zhidan was suppressed and framed. The main force of the Red Army arrived in northern Shaanxi, and Liu Zhidan was released. In order to show his innocence, in March 1936, Liu Zhidan volunteered to lead the Red 28th Army to cross the Yellow River in the east, and Shi Zebo, who was then the commander of the Jinsui Army, was stationed in Liulin County on the east bank of the Yellow River, and fought fiercely with Liu Zhidan's troops. As a senior commander, Liu Zhidan should not have appeared on the front line, but Liu Zhidan took the lead as a soldier and served as the captain of the death squad in the battle, leading the Red Army soldiers to charge. As a result, he died heroically in battle, and Zhou Enlai later said bitterly that Liu Zhidan was dying in Mingzhi.

Shi Zebo's troops performed remarkably well in the War of Resistance Against Japan. In 1937, when the Japanese army launched a large-scale attack on Shanxi, Shi Zebo led his troops to hold the pass Chaigou Fort, and held out for three days and three nights under the indiscriminate bombardment of Japanese aircraft artillery, which slowed down the pace of the Japanese army. Subsequently, Shi Zebo participated in the Battle of Xinkou and the defense of Taiyuan. After the fall of Taiyuan, Shi Zebo's troops fought guerrillas with the Japanese army at Lüliang Mountain. He fought flexibly against the Japanese army, and in an ambush battle, he captured more than 20 Japanese troops at a time, which became a good story in the early days of the War of Resistance.

During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the Jin Sui Army, dressed in a small cotton jacket of Shanxi folk, can also be regarded as "Yan's characteristics"

In 1942, during the famous Battle of Hualing Temple, Szepo's troops created another feat. Szepo selected 24 warriors, each of whom was covered with grenades. Launching a "meat bomb" attack on the Japanese position made the arrogant Japanese army also fear and awe. Shi Zebo was rewarded by President Jiang and promoted to the rank of commander of the 19th Army.

After the outbreak of the Liberation War, Yan Xishan ordered the 19th Army led by Shi Zebo to attack the base area of the Eighth Route Army, which was the famous "Shangdang Campaign" in the early days of the Liberation War. This time, the Eighth Route Army did not give this unit, which had killed the generals of the Red Army, any chance, and the Eighth Route Army commanded by Chen Geng cleanly destroyed Shi Zebo's 19th Army and captured Shi Zebo alive.

The Eighth Route Army knew some of the reasons for Liu Zhidan's sacrifice, so it did not blame Shi Zebo for all the blame, on the contrary, remembering Shi Zebo's military achievements during the War of Resistance, the Eighth Route Army treated him quite courteously. He was left to live in the Liberated Areas for two years, and finally Shi Zebo offered to go home, and Xu Xiangqian sent him a travel fee to send him out of the Liberated Areas.

Who expected, Shi Zebo turned around and returned to Yan Xishan's side, and Yan Xishan was somewhat dissatisfied with his capture for two years, so he organized some officers and men who had been captured and returned to the unit, named them the "Snow Shame Meritorious Regiment", and let Shi Zebo lead him to continue fighting with the People's Liberation Army.

During his two years in the Liberated Areas, Shi Zebo fully understood the essential difference between the people's army and the army of Chiang Kai-shek in Yan Xishan and also had a sober understanding of the prospects of the war of liberation.

Taiyuan liberation, the "Snow Shame Regiment" captured again]

Therefore, this so-called "snow shame group" soon collapsed, and Shi Zebo lurked in Taiyuan City, welcoming the People's Liberation Army into the city together with the taiyuan people.

After the founding of New China, Shi Zebo felt that his life had been stained, so he refused the care given by all parties, returned to his hometown to pick up his ancestral business, and became a Chinese medicine doctor. Shi Zebo's medical skills are very skilled, especially acupuncture, and he is also well-known in the Chinese medicine industry.

What is even more incredible is that this person who has been fighting horses for half his life and hanging pots for half a life has actually made a major invention in his later years. He invented and developed a lubricating oil that can withstand high temperatures of 170 degrees and was patented. In 1986, at the age of 87, Szepo died.
