Yan Xishan ruled Shanxi for 38 years from the Xinhai Revolution, known as the King of Shanxi, and the Jin Sui Army in his hands was an important local armed force in Shanxi and played a considerable role in the War of Resistance Against Japan. This person's name was Shi Zebo, born on December 23, 1899, a native of Zhangwangtun Village, XianXian County, Hebei Province, who studied private school at the age of 10, and in 1918 he was admitted to the Eighth Infantry Section of the Baoding Military Academy, graduated in June 1922, and served as a probationary officer in the 15th Mixed Brigade, thus beginning his career as a horseman.

Shi Zebo was one of the few generals under Yan Xishan who could fight, and he was the number one brave general. During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Shi Zebo served as the commander of the 412nd Regiment of the Independent Brigade of the Jin Sui Army. After the July 7 Incident, Shi Zebo's regiment was sent to the north of Shanxi to meet the Japanese invading army, the first battle was to defend the town of Chaigou Fort, the Japanese army launched a fierce attack on the place, artillery bombardment, aircraft bombing, almost blowing up the town, he held out for three days.

He once went into battle shirtless and led the commando team desperately to seize a commando near the Japanese army's southern Huaihua and save the unfavorable situation of the Nationalist army on the battlefield. Because of his military achievements, he was promoted to brigade commander of the 210th Brigade in 1938, to commander of the Provisional Thirty-seventh Division in 1940, and to commander of the Nineteenth Army in September 1943.

After Japan announced its surrender in August 1945, Yan Xishan ordered Shi Zebo, deputy commander-in-chief of the 8th Group Army and commander of the 19th Army, to occupy Changzhi and its surrounding areas, invade the PLA base area, and occupy 6 county seats while the troops of the Jinji-Hebei Luyu Military Region were holding a major counteroffensive against the Japanese puppet army.

In order to defend the fruits of the victory of the War of Resistance, the Jinji-Hebei Luyu Military Region launched a self-defense counterattack, organizing a total of 30,000 regular troops, and more than 50,000 local troops to respond, and quickly surrounded Shi Zebo's troops in Changzhi. After the Kuomintang reinforcements were annihilated, the Changzhi defenders had no hope of waiting for help, and Shi Zebo led his troops to break through and was captured by the People's Liberation Army.

After two years of reforming Shi Zebo, the People's Liberation Army released him back to Taiyuan in November 1947 and hosted a banquet before leaving. After he returned to Taiyuan, he was rearranged and ordered to form 6 regiments to continue fighting. However, Shi Zebo had already lost the vigor of his original fierce generals, and had no intention of continuing to fight, so he soon resigned from the army.

After the liberation of the country, Shi Zebo worked as an accountant in a private brick factory in Taiyuan and returned to his hometown in 1952 to work as a farmer. Because he had learned acupuncture from his father since he was a child, he was quite interested in acupuncture, so he read some relevant books, conducted research, began to operate the acupuncture and moxibustion medical treatment industry, became a rural doctor, because of his high medical skills, good service attitude, and local fame, there was an endless stream of people from all over the country, and he spent the rest of his life quietly. He died of illness on 26 September 1986 at the age of 87.
