Duan Junyi is a native of Puxian County, Shandong Province, when he was a student, he studied at Liaocheng Provincial No. 2 Middle School, and then studied in Beiping, during which he also participated in many patriotic student movements, and he had an incomparable belief in Marxism-Leninism, for which he was eager to become a member of our Communist Party of China.
Because Duan Junyi was very active in his work and was also a leader in the student movement, in 1936, Duan Junyi passed the audit of our party organization and then formally joined the Communist Party of China.
Not long after the famous "Seven Gentlemen Incident" broke out, Duan Junyi was given the task of immediately organizing the All-China Federation of Students to start supporting Mr. Song Qingling to save them, and the following year Duan Junyi was sent back to Yan'an by the party organization, and then entered the Central Party School to study.
In fact, this is my party organization began to deliberately cultivate him, after graduation, Duan Junyi was immediately sent to the Shandong anti-Japanese front, in fact, this is also Duan Junyi's own dream, he has long wanted to go to the front line to fight with the Japanese army, after all, the Japanese army is so shameless, causing so much disaster to the Chinese people, as every enthusiastic young man, not to mention a party member of our party, for this reason he is extremely eager to go to the battlefield to fight the Japanese army.
In the days that followed, Duan Junyi was successively appointed deputy brigade commander of the Independent Brigade of the 115th Division of the Eighth Route Army, deputy commander of the Luxi Military Region, deputy director and director of the Luxi Bureau, and political commissar of the Yudong Headquarters of the Hebei-Luyu Military Region.
The cooperation with Wang Jinshan was after the end of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, when our army was reorganized, and duan Junyi was subsequently appointed as the political commissar of the sixth column of the Jinji-Hebei Luyu Military Region, and Wang Jinshan was the commander of the sixth column of the Jinji-Hebei Luyu Military Region.
The two men also established a very deep friendship during the cooperation period, and General Wang Jinshan greatly admired Duan Junyi's ability to work political work, and praised him very much for this.
During the War of Liberation, Duan Junyi successively served as secretary of the CPC Eyu District CPC Committee and political commissar of the Military Region, commander of the Logistics Command of the Second Field Army, and so on; when he was serving as commander of the Logistics Command of the Second Field Army, Duan Junyi made a great contribution; he did a great job of ensuring that "grain is needed, people are needed, and ships are needed," and finally he successfully laid the foundation for the liberation of all of China by our People's Liberation Army.
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Duan Junyi was naturally reused, and successively served as vice minister of the First Ministry of Machinery Industry, minister of railways, first secretary of the Henan Provincial CPC Committee, first secretary of the Beijing Municipal CPC Committee, and standing committee member of the CPC Central Advisory Committee.
So what about Duan Junyi's children? What I didn't expect was that all the children were very ordinary, and the only one who was strong was his son Duan Cunrang, who also suffered the most, who had worked as a teacher for decades and later became the deputy director of the United Front Work Department of the Fan County CPC Committee.
