In the impression of many tourists, Lanzhou has always shouldered the role of a transit city, but as an ancient city with a long history, we may underestimate it too much.
I have been to Lanzhou no less than five times, and each time I will choose to stay at least a day or more, the simple reason is that I want to go to the Gansu Provincial Museum in the city to take a look around, in my opinion, the rich collection and treasures of Gansu Province bo is not enough for me to appreciate its charm.
First, let's take a look at why I like the Gansu Provincial Museum? On the one hand, because it is a national first-class museum, it can be said that it must have connotations to get such an honor; on the other hand, in the Gansu Provincial Museum, you can see many cultural relics with the characteristics of the Hexi Corridor, which witness the history of the exchange of Chinese and Western civilizations.
It can be said that among the many cultural relics, my personal preference is several cultural relics excavated from Wuwei, which also play a role in adding bricks and tiles to the selection of Gansu Provincial Museum as a national first-class museum.
When it comes to the cultural relics unearthed in Wuwei, then there must be no shortage of copper galloping horses, which is a well-known horse flying swallow, I believe that everyone will not be unfamiliar. But perhaps some tourists do not know the provenance of this cultural relic, in fact, it was excavated from the Leitai Han Tomb in Wuwei City.
Leitai Han Tomb was built in the Eastern Han Dynasty, the scale consists of three tombs, the most spectacular of which is the First Tomb, a husband and wife burial tomb, due to the relatively high level, more than 230 cultural relics have been excavated inside, the most exquisite of which is the bronze carriage honor guard, and the copper galloping horse is one of the most sophisticated.
Take a closer look at this bronze galloping horse, 34.5 cm high, 45 cm long and 13 cm wide, the horse is in a galloping state with three legs in the air, and the other foot is on top of the dragon finches. It can be seen that the huge horse steps on the back of the small and exquisite dragon sparrow, forming a sharp contrast, and showing the image of the surprised little dragon sparrow makes the Pegasus more reflect the rapid posture.
If the lively copper galloping horse will disappoint many tourists, then you may wish to move to the side to see another national first-class cultural relic, "Rites of Duty", which does not look amazing enough, but it is the oldest copy of China's current "Ritual Rites", which is the top product of the Han Dynasty Ink Writing Book.
This batch of "Ritual Rituals" was excavated from the Mozuizi Han Tomb in Wuwei City, when it was excavated, a total of 496 pieces were found, including ancient ritual contents such as "Shi Jie", "Service Transmission", "Special Sacrifice", "Shao Prison" and so on, it can be said that they are complete color books, so that the intact "Ritual" Jane can be called the world's first Jane. If you look closely at these Janes, although they look somewhat damaged, you can still see that the ink is as good as ever, and the scriptures written in the Lishu book look very beautiful.
However, when it comes to the cultural relics unearthed in Wuwei, the most popular is the treasures unearthed from the Tiantishan Grottoes, and the Ganbozhong Museum has a lot of such cultural relics, of which there are two most characteristic, the first is the "one Buddha and two bodhisattvas" from the third cave of the Tiantishan Grottoes.
These three statues were molded more than 1400 years ago, that is, the color sculptures of the Tang Dynasty, if you look closely, you can find that the carving is exquisite, the color is rich, and the artistic value of "plump muscles and bones" is not inferior to the painted sculptures of the Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes in the same period.
The second cultural relic is the mural excavated from the Tiantishan Grottoes, although there are many murals that have been seen, but it is rare to see the exotic style like this Northern Liang mural.
Take a closer look at this group of Beiliang murals, bodhisattva height 106 cm, width 60 cm, hairstyle for wavy curly hair long to the shoulders, high nose deep eyes, body S-shaped, at a glance to see it is not the Central Plains or Northern Liang people, but with a strong ancient Indian figure, it can be said that this mural is not only beautiful lines, but also witnesses the history of Buddhism to the East.
This group of murals also adopts the concave and convex blending method in the Western murals, which looks more three-dimensional, and if you have been to the early caves of Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes, you will be very familiar.
In general, these highly valuable cultural relics unearthed in Wuwei are indispensable for the Gansu Provincial Museum and Museum to be selected as a national first-class museum, and also highlight the profound heritage of Wuwei.
