Mercedes-Benz's first pure electric vehicle prototype unveiled with a cruising range of more than 1,000 kilometers

On January 4, according to foreign media reports, Mercedes-Benz unveiled its first electric vehicle VISION EQXX prototype on Monday, showing that Mercedes-Benz has taken a big step towards the grand goal of electric vehicles.

Daimler will soon be renamed Mercedes-Benz. The company announced plans to invest more than 40 billion euros (about 287.2 billion yuan) by 2030, including the construction of eight battery factories to compete with Tesla in the all-electric vehicle market, and said that from 2025, all of its car platforms will only produce electric vehicles.

Daimler said that the VISION EQXX is the most energy-efficient Mercedes-Benz model to date, with a range of more than 1,000 kilometers per charge and energy consumption of 100 kilometers as low as single digits. Ola Kaellenius, CEO of Mercedes-Benz, said vision EQXX represents the company's vision for the future of electric vehicles.

Markus Schaefer, Daimler's chief technology officer, said Daimler would test the prototype on a variety of terrains by mid-year and said they would be the first to move a car with a range of 1,000 kilometers and such a small battery volume onto the road. However, he declined to disclose when the electric car's batteries will be available.
