2022 International Equestrian Events Landing in China "Difficult"! Shanghai suspended the Global Equestrian Championship for the third year

On the last day of 2021, the Shanghai Municipal Sports Bureau officially released the 2022 Shanghai International and Domestic Sports Event Plan (first edition). In Shanghai, which is striving to become the capital of international competitions, more than 100 international and domestic competitions in 2022 have been finalized. Because there are still many variables in the spread of the epidemic, the Shanghai Municipal Sports Bureau also specially reminds that the actual event held is subject to the release of the current month. Unfortunately, the Global Equestrian Championship, which has been in Shanghai since 2014, did not appear on the list, and the five-star event was confirmed to miss Shanghai for the third consecutive year. The absence of the Global Equestrian Championship also indicates that it is still difficult for the 2022 international equestrian events to land in China!

In this event plan, in 2022, Shanghai will have three national equestrian events and one equestrian event in the Yangtze River Delta region, namely-

May 5, 2022 National Equestrian Dressage Championships;

May 9, 2022 National Equestrian Steeplechase Championships;

May, 2022 National Equestrian Dressage Junior Championships;

In November, the 2022 Yangtze River Delta Equestrian Youth League Shanghai Lingang Station.

Previously, the Chinese Equestrian Association announced the "2022 China Horse Association Race Plan Released: Asian Games in September, Bird's Nest Masters in October, Horse Racing Grand Prix Prize Of 3 million". In the event plan, the Shanghai Global Equestrian Championship was originally planned from April 29 to May 1, 2022, which is also the only five-star equestrian event in Chinese mainland.

The Shanghai Global Equestrian Championships have certainly not been held, and the three-star FIA Equestrian World Cup China League, Bird's Nest Masters, China Equestrian Tour, Kimberle Equestrian Open and other events in the china horse association's race schedule will either be almost all participated by domestic riders, or will still repeat the mistakes of 2021 and cancel the event.

In the case of the Hangzhou Asian Games to be held in September, in combination with the repeated characteristics of the current domestic epidemic, these events will most likely be cancelled or postponed to ensure the normal holding of the Asian Games.

Whether the 2022 series of equestrian events can land and how to land smoothly remains to be seen, and it is hoped that normalcy will be restored as soon as possible.
