One evening not long after, they were attacked by the 116th Division of the National Revolutionary Army. At this time, Xiong Jiandong and the first chief of staff, Li Guokan (former station chief of the Hankou Station of the Army Command), were walking on a high plane, and the "Yellow Guards" suffered heavy losses under caught off guard, but then unexpectedly showed the tenacity and courage rarely seen in the puppet army.
Afterwards, although the "Yellow Guard Army" was defeated, Okamura Ningji, the supreme commander of North Japan, was very satisfied with the performance of this puppet army, after all, among the many puppet armies that were passively coped with, it was quite rare that they could face the superior attack of the compatriots' armies and still fight to the death.
As a result, Xiong Jiandong was commended by Okamura Ninji for his "loyalty and reliability", and the "Yellow Guards" received luxurious weapons and equipment: 4 75mm mountain guns, 12 mortars, 12 heavy machine guns, 30 light machine guns, 3,000 rifles, and 12 military horses.

In September 1941, the reorganized "Yellow Guards" were stationed at Yanglin Mountain to guard against the threat of the 53rd Army of the National Revolutionary Army. Soon, the 116th Division of the 53rd Army of the National Revolutionary Army learned in advance that it was a puppet army defending Yanglin Mountain, so it decided to attack from this direction at night and tear through the defense line of the Japanese puppet army at Bailuoji.
However, what all the officers and men of the 116th Division did not expect was that the puppet army, which had once collapsed at a touch, was particularly tenacious here. Armed with a large amount of light and heavy fire, the 116th Division suffered heavy casualties after a night of fierce fighting, but could not move forward, and had to retreat before dawn.
The 116th Division was not satisfied with this, and after half a month of preparation, it once again raided Yanglin Mountain, but under the fierce fire of the "Yellow Guards", it could only retreat again for only a few hours.
After these two battles, Xiong Jiandong was frequently praised and praised by the Japanese masters, and his arrogance became more and more arrogant. With the thick possessions in his hands, he no longer planned to blindly defend and decided to take the initiative to attack the Chinese army!
Soon, the "Yellow Guards" took the initiative to launch an attack on the positions of the 53rd Army, when did the 53rd Army see such an arrogant pseudo-army dog leg? Therefore, on the one hand, there was the anger full of hatred of the country and the family, and on the other hand, the arrogance of the traitorous country and seeking glory, after a day of fierce fighting between the two sides, the "Yellow Guard Army" was almost surrounded by the 53rd Army, and the loss of soldiers was reduced, thanks to the rescue of the Japanese army, it was able to escape.
However, the "Yellow Guards" that suffered heavy blows from the Chinese did not stop, and they suffered losses and seized the position of the 53rd Army at Niejiahe with the cooperation of the Japanese army the next day. Facing compatriots like wolves and tigers, facing the invaders as flattering as dogs, is the face of these shameless puppet soldiers.

However, at the end of 1941, the Pacific War broke out, the "Yellow Guards" were split by the Japanese, and part of it was assigned to the Wang puppet regime to form the pseudo-29th Division, with Zou Pingfan as the division commander (later absorbed by the Nationalist government and quickly withdrawn, Zou Pingfan went into exile in Japan); some about 3,000 people went to Shanghai to form the pseudo-tax police corps, but Xiong Jiandong only got a deputy regimental commander, because the regimental commander was the "famous" traitor, Zhou Fohai.

Xiong Jiandong's unit was reorganized into the Seventh Traffic Police Corps after the Anti-Japanese War and was immediately thrown into the civil war.
