Happy days are always short-lived. Soon after, the sixth brother Wang Dengming left Taiwan and returned to Shanghai to work. After that, the second brother Wang Gaoming and the fifth brother Wang Ciming also left Taiwan. But what the Wang family did not expect was that in 1949, the Nationalist government fled to Taiwan, which isolated Taiwan from the mainland. The family was split in half by life.

After the meeting, Wang Dongming learned that his second brother Wang Gaoming had been working in the postal system and had served as deputy director of the secretariat of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications in 1949. He then committed suicide with hatred because he was involved in the case. The fifth brother, Wang Ciming, studied engineering techniques and was sent to Chengdu in 1956 as the chief engineer. The sixth brother, Wang Dengming, stayed in Shanghai to study medicine and later became a professor at Shanghai Medical University.
In 1990, Wang Dongming returned to the mainland and came to Tsinghua Garden. Here she felt the breath left by her father. Because of the turmoil, the children of the Wang family were reluctant to mention their father's name. It was not until his later years that Wang Dongming slowly changed his mind while sorting out his father's relics.
