Su Yu's children: the eldest son became a lieutenant general, the daughter married chen Yi's son, and the second son was Zhang Lingfu's widow He Shou

Su Rongsheng is the eldest son of Su Yuzhi, the head of China's ten great generals, and his memory of his father dates back to the age of three. Because, when he was three years old, his father did something to him that he would never forget.

At that time, Su Yu was serving as the commander of the Jiangsu-Zhejiang Military Region, and he was busy fighting the Japanese army all day. During the battle, Su Rongsheng, who was born in the war, was sent to the nursery, but fortunately, wherever the troops hit, the nursery was opened. Therefore, although Su Rongsheng's parents are busy, he can still see his parents often.

One day in 1945, Su Yu decided to "teach" himself after hearing that his son had not yet learned to swim. After learning the news, Su Rongsheng was naturally very happy.

After arriving at the river, a scene that Su Rongsheng will never forget appeared: his father actually handed him a bamboo tube and said, "Hold tight, jump down!" Su Rongsheng did not react at all, just when he was stunned, as his body was lifted up, after a "fluttering" sound, he was thrown into the water.

Su Rongsheng, who was completely frightened, had to cling to the bamboo tube, and the huge fear made him forget to cry, and he only held the bamboo tube and threw it vigorously.

When Su Rongsheng was fluttering in the water, Su Yu on the shore shouted: "Child, don't be afraid, swim by yourself." Seeing the little son holding a bamboo tube and splashing alone in the water, her mother Chu Qing was anxious, and she loudly rebuked Su Yu: "You are also true, so you are not afraid of drowning him." ”

After listening to his wife's words, Su Yu pointed to his son in the water without hesitation and said, "Just throw him into the water, or you can't learn all the time, you see, this is not very good!" ”

It is really strange to say, just this time, Su Rongsheng overcame his fear of water, and he slowly learned to swim.

After the news spread that Su Yu taught his son to swim, the New Fourth Army also appeared with a famous afterword called: "Commander Su taught his son to swim - throw it in!" ”

It was not until he became an adult that Su Rongsheng knew that his father's "disregard" was actually a kind of "management" in the true sense. It's just that this kind of "management" points more to "exercise and hardship".

When Su Rongsheng was five years old, he received a special gift: a pistol captured from the landlord's house. This pistol has a long range, but is not very lethal. Su Rongsheng was very excited when he saw the pistol, and he had long wanted to have a pistol of his own in the army for a long time. After having a pistol, Su Yu began to teach his son how to practice marksmanship and how to wipe and maintain the pistol.

Since then, pistols have become a common hobby of Su Yu and Su Rongsheng's father and son.

Under Su Yu's personal teaching, at a young age, Su Rongsheng's marksmanship was very good. In order to further train his son's marksmanship, Su Yu also used the method of holding a ping-pong ball on top of a branch as a target to assist in training.

Su Rongsheng did not know that when his father gave him a gun and accompanied him to train marksmanship, he made a wish in his heart to train him to become a great general of the country.

Su Yu's education for his son is more about teaching by example, and he always feels that he wants his children to become what they want to be, and what they can do themselves.

As Su Rongsheng grew up, he slowly gained a real understanding of his father, and he even used his father as a lifelong role model. In fact, it is most natural for Su Yu, who has experienced hundreds of battles, to become an example for his son.

Su Yu, who ranked first among the top ten generals in China, was an old man from Jinggangshan, led the New Fourth Army to command the Soviet and Chinese soldiers and civilians to fight fiercely against the Japanese army, and in the Battle of Huaihai, he commanded fighters to annihilate 550,000 enemy soldiers...

Because he transported troops like gods, Su Yu was praised by Liu Bocheng, the highest military commander of the adjacent theater, as "General Changsheng", while Lin Biao, the top military commander of the Northeast Theater, called him "fighting the battle of the immortals as much as possible."

In 1954, shortly after liberation, Su Yu was appointed chief of the general staff. The following year, Zhou Enlai was the first to grant Su Yu a letter of order granting the rank of grand general. From this time on, he became the head of the Ten Great Generals of New China.

On November 20, 1956, Su Yu was added to the Central Military Commission. In his later years, Su Yu was ranked among China's vice-state leaders.

General Su Yu

Because he had always followed his father's example, in the year when his father was promoted to vice-state leader, Su Rongsheng, who was only 14 years old, promised the same ambition as his father: to be a general who defended his family and defended the country.

In 1961, the 21-year-old Su Rongsheng was admitted to the Harbin Institute of Technology, which was the best military academy in China at that time. After consulting with his father, he chose the missile major.

It was also from this time that Su Yu, who was already strict with his son, demanded more of him.

After graduation, Su Rongsheng did not let his son enter the government unit. Instead, he was sent directly to the most arduous and dangerous front line of aiding the Vietnamese and resisting the United States, and he was a big soldier at that time, which meant that he had to be ready for real knives and guns and American devils at any time.

Su Yu, who was honed out of suffering, had a philosophy: suffering is the best school. Therefore, he insisted all his life: where is the most bitter, where to send his son!

Knowing that Su Rongsheng was going to go to the battlefield, his mother Chu Qing could only secretly wipe away his tears! She knew that this trip was a few years, and if it was not good, this time it would be their mother and son who would never say goodbye.

After receiving the military order from the troops, Su Rongsheng immediately packed up his backpack and rushed to Guangdong in 5 days, passing through Beijing, he did not even go home to take a look.

According to data released by the U.S. Department of Defense, from February 1965 to November 1968 alone, they carried out 107,700 air raids on North Vietnam and dropped 2.58 million tons of bombs. What is this concept? It means that The average number of bombs dropped in Viet Nam was 16.2 tons per square kilometre, a bomb-dropping density far greater than any war in history.

In the fierce battle situation, Su Rongsheng and the volunteers had more than 4 battle alarms almost every day. In order to be ready to charge at any time, none of them dared to leave the position, and every time the alarm sounded, they desperately ran to the battle position.

At that time, Su Rongsheng was stationed in the yunnan front, and although he was a high-caliber student in the military industrial school, he was arranged to be an air defense fighter. This is naturally also related to his father's instructions, and Su Yu has always felt that a real soldier must start from the smallest soldier.

The environment on the front line in Yunnan was harsh, and Su Rongsheng happened to be arranged in the area where lightning strikes were most frequent. Therefore, when it comes to the rainy season, rolling thunder will flash past them from time to time. Fighting in such an environment is a great test for anyone.

On the battlefield of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Vietnam, Su Rongsheng stayed for four or five years. Because of his excellent marksmanship, bravery in combat, and his ability to survey the terrain, in four or five years, he slowly climbed from an ordinary soldier to a platoon leader.

Su Rongsheng's first major operation was to participate in the air defense of the homeland, and his mission was to fight the U-2 reconnaissance plane and the unmanned reconnaissance plane, during which he once shot down a "Firebee" No. 2 unmanned reconnaissance plane.

Later, every time he told people about his battles, he would always sigh: "Many people tell me that I have been a soldier all my life and have never fought a war, sorry!" And I, have no regrets in this life! ”

More than four years after the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Vietnam, Su Rongsheng's unit was transferred back to the interior, and Chu Qing, who heard the news, was so happy that she did not sleep for several nights, and she chanted every day: "Finally coming back!" "But what she didn't expect was that this time, she didn't look forward to reuniting with her son—

Because of the tense situation on the Sino-Soviet border, war broke out on Zhenbao Island, and Su Yu sent his eldest son to the front line again at the first time. When he left, he also specially sent a poem of his own creation to his son.

The poem is called "Veteran Music", and it has been carefully treasured by Su Rongsheng since then, and the poem reads:

"Half a lifetime of fighting horses, the conscripts have not been saddled. Explosions roared like drums, and gunshots roared like pianos. ”

This passage is a true portrayal of Su Yu's own half-life career as a horseman, who has participated in countless battles in his life, and has been wounded 6 times and rubbed shoulders with the god of death 3 times. Obviously, Su Yu's poem is encouraging his son to be the same as he was in his own year: to bravely gallop on the battlefield, to kill the enemy and make meritorious contributions, and to be loyal to the country.

Su Yu's children: the eldest son became a lieutenant general, the daughter married chen Yi's son, and the second son was Zhang Lingfu's widow He Shou

This poem is like a war drum, which not only gives Su Rongsheng strength, but also gives him confidence.

The battlefield conditions this time were still very difficult, but Su Rongsheng gritted his teeth and persevered under the inspiration of his father's spirit, and he later recalled this past:

"Coarse grain ratios are large, vegetable supplies are poor; the climate is harsh, dry and cold, and it requires perseverance. I pushed over and did what my father asked me to do little by little. ”

On the battlefield this time, because the battle on the northern front where Su Rongsheng was located did not really start, they had been digging tunnels in the ravine for three years.

Every time he dug a tunnel, Su Rongsheng held the most dangerous position: draining the explosives channel.

On several occasions, he went to the risk of running alone, and he was almost stoned. But after repeated dangers, he still insisted on eliminating dangers alone. Every time he encountered a squib, Su Rongsheng would insist on going up alone to investigate the situation, and only after the danger was eliminated would he let the warriors come up.

Because he was as meticulous as his father, there had not been a single casualty in the three years where he had checked.

After continuous training, Su Rongsheng became more and more powerful day by day, but Su Yu would still teach him how to read the map and how to formulate strategies and tactics. Every time his father explained tactics to him, he listened very carefully, and later, he taught all the things his father had taught him to his soldiers.

Because of his frequent participation in the war, Su Rongsheng did not marry his middle school classmate Li Manjun until 1969. In the year of marriage, he was 27 years old, which was an absolute "old age" at that time.

In order, they are Su Hansheng, Su Yu, and Su Rongsheng

Li Manjun's father served at the Academy of Military Sciences, and his father was a colleague of Su Yu. The marriage of the two can also be described as "door to door", after marriage, the two of them are very affectionate like Su Yu and his wife.

Like his father, Su Rongsheng after marriage was also obsessed with going to the battlefield. At the age of 43, 15 years after his second appearance on the battlefield, Su Rongsheng once again went to the front.

This time, he was appointed chief of staff of the 67th Army. In this battle, he invented a new reconnaissance technique for our army. For this technology, the Children of the Founding Fathers records the following:

"Su Rongsheng borrowed the model aircraft used by the anti-aircraft artillery battalion for training, and tied a camera to the model aircraft for reconnaissance."

For China, which did not have unmanned reconnaissance aircraft technology at that time, Su Rongsheng's measure can be said to have "invented the first unmanned reconnaissance aircraft" for China.

After this battle, the more experienced Su Rongsheng also preferred to exchange military affairs with his father. Every time the two of them chatted, their father and son would involuntarily turn the topic around the military. Whenever Chu Qing saw their father and son fiercely discussing the military, he always quipped: "The family has become a command post again!"

After getting along with his father more, Su Rongsheng's understanding of his father became deeper and deeper. He was always very distressed about his father, and every time his father had a headache, he was anxious to turn around, and Su Yu's headache had always been a heart disease for him and his mother.

But no matter how anxious they were, they were the same as the doctors: they could not find the cause of Su Yu's headache.

Every time he saw his father's painful expression of headache attack, Su Rongsheng was eager to be in pain. His mother, Chu Qing, once told him: "When the pain is severe, when he touches his hair, he will feel a pinprick-like pain." ”

In 1954, after Su Yu was wrongly criticized as a "capitalist extreme individualist", his headaches became more and more frequent.

In addition to unexplained headaches, Su Yu also suffered from recurrent hypertension and Meniere's syndrome, which caused him great pain in his later years.

In order to alleviate his father's pain, every time he saw his father, Su Rongsheng would always pick a good thing as much as possible. Whenever he heard good news, Su Yu's face was always full of red light.

After discovering that his father often mentioned his hometown to himself, he had advised his father to take them back to their hometown and county to see. But whenever he heard this, Su Yu just shook his head.

Su Rongsheng did not understand: Since he had achieved fame, why did he delay returning home? After thinking about it, he attributed the reason behind his father's longing for his hometown but refusing to return home to the fact that the country was not really fully liberated.

Su Rongsheng felt that after the founding of New China, his father had been appointed director of the Military Commission for the Liberation of Taiwan, and since then, he has regarded the liberation of Taiwan as his greatest thing. But later, for various reasons, this matter was always dragged on and on, so that it finally dragged on to become my father's heart disease. The heart disease has not been eliminated, and he naturally refuses to go home!

In 1984, Su Yu died of illness, nearly sixty years after he left home at the age of 19. He finally failed to return to his beloved hometown before he died, and whenever he thought of this, Su Rongsheng couldn't help but sigh for his father.

After his father's death, Su Rongsheng personally collected the ashes on the cremation furnace bed, and suddenly, he found a small thing about the size of a soybean in diameter and two dark black flakes the size of two mung bean grains from the skull ashes.

Residual shrapnel found in Su Yu's skull

At that moment, Su Rongsheng trembled involuntarily, and he finally understood that the root cause of his father's headache was because of these three pieces of shrapnel. Subsequently, Su Rongsheng handed the three shrapnel pieces to his mother Chu Qing.

After Chu Qing got the shrapnel, he cried uncontrollably on the spot. After consulting with their son, they decided to ask their comrades to analyze which of the three pieces of shrapnel was left in the battle.

Later, based on their recollections, the comrades concluded that the shrapnel left in Su Yu's head should have been left behind when he was wounded in 1930.

In the narration of his father's comrades-in-arms, Su Rongsheng heard the battle story that his father had not told——

In 1930, 54 years before Su Yu's death, he led his troops to fight fiercely with the enemy in Jishui and Ji'an, Jiangxi.

During one battle, a mortar shell exploded next to Su Yu, and because of the severe head injury, he fell on the spot and fainted. The warriors saw Su Yu, whose face was covered with blood, and rushed to bandage his wounds, but just as the warriors were bandaging the wounds and preparing to carry him off the battlefield, he suddenly woke up.

When he woke up, his first words were: "Leave me alone, go after the enemy." After that, he fainted again.

Because of his order, the soldiers had to wait until the end of the battle before sending him to the rear hospital. Because the conditions of the Red Army were difficult at that time, they only made a simple bandage for him without further examination.

Only three months after that, Su Yu was discharged from the hospital on the grounds that "the wound has healed". Because he looked the same as usual when he was discharged from the hospital, they didn't take it seriously.

The warriors concluded that the three pieces of shrapnel were left behind at the time of the wound.

At the moment of learning the truth, Su Rongchang sighed and said, "They actually stayed in their father's head for 53 years!" ”

After his father's death, Su Rongsheng and his family tearfully scattered his father's ashes in various places where he had fought all his life, including Jiangxi, Fujian, Zhejiang, Anhui, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Shandong, and Henan provinces and cities.

Su Yu's children: the eldest son became a lieutenant general, the daughter married chen Yi's son, and the second son was Zhang Lingfu's widow He Shou

Su Rongsheng knew that his father wanted to accompany his beloved comrades in this way.

Many years after his father's death, Su Rongsheng handed one of the three shrapnels found in his father's skull to the History Museum of the Academy of Military Sciences for display, and the other two he has been keeping close to him. He has said publicly more than once: "These two shrapnel pieces are the greatest spiritual wealth that my father has given us, and it has always inspired me!" ”

After his father's death, Su Rongsheng insisted on staying in the barracks, and he later served as the deputy commander of the Beijing Military Region, during which time he was mainly in charge of the training of soldiers.

During the training period, Su Rongsheng successively organized dozens of confrontation drills, and after each drill, he would grasp the problems in the training and make severe criticisms. This is just as his father did to him.

At that time, his words often hung on his lips were:

"There is no criticism on the training ground, and there is no victory on the battlefield. I will never give you a high score, only a low score, because if I give you one more point now, you may take hundreds, thousands of people to death in the future. ”

In 1990, Su Rongsheng was promoted to the rank of major general, and in 1999, he was promoted to the rank of lieutenant general, and he became one of the generals of new China like his father, which was also the greatest pride of his life.

In addition to Su Rongsheng, Su Yu and Chu Qing also had a son and a daughter, they were the second son Su Hansheng and the daughter Su Huining.

Su Hansheng was five years younger than Su Rongsheng, and like his brother and father, he was most interested in the military in his life. Later, he also became a soldier as he wished. The difference was that he was in the Navy at the time, he entered the East Sea Fleet, and initially, he was an ordinary seaman on the 380 ships of the Minesweeper Group.

Like his brother, Su Hansheng was not afraid of hardship or tiredness since he was a child, and when he first became a seafarer, he suffered from severe rheumatoid arthritis because he was not adapted to the humidity of the sea.

Seeing that Su Hansheng's condition was getting worse and worse, his comrades-in-arms advised him to change his environment, but the stubborn Su Hansheng refused. Later, with tenacious perseverance, he overcame the maritime environment.

Two years after joining the army, Su Hansheng was selected as a navigation cadre and served as the navigator of the 609th boat of the 75th Group of the North Sea Fleet.

Later, when the state encouraged him to change jobs, he responded to the call and took the lead in obtaining the qualification of ocean captain through self-study and entered the Tianjin branch of China Cosco.

One of the most talked about things Su Hansheng did in his life was that he paid homage to Zhang Lingfu's widow Wang Yuling in 2008. Zhang Lingfu was the general who was annihilated by Su Hansheng's father Su Yu in the Battle of Menglianggu, and after a few decades, he celebrated his widow's 80th birthday as su Yu's son.

The old man Wang Yuling, who received the congratulations that day, was also full of emotion, and she did not know what to say for a while after being unable to calm down for a long time.

Between the banquets, Su Hansheng toasted to Wang Yuling, the old lady of Zhang, and Wang Yuling drank the glass of wine with a tearful smile. This scene really has to make people sigh: "The brothers who have crossed the robbery wave are here, and they meet each other and laugh and take revenge." ”

On September 6, 2018, ten years after Su Hansheng was celebrated as Wang Yuling's birthday, Su Hansheng died in Shanghai Ruijin Hospital due to ineffective medical treatment. This year, he was 71 years old.

Compared with the two older brothers, in terms of personal achievements, Su Yu's only daughter Su Huining is not inferior at all.

Born in 1949, Su Huining chose to become a soldier like her father and brother when she grew up. It is worth mentioning that the person she married was Chen Xiaolu, the son of Chen Yi. The two had a son and a daughter together after marriage, and they were like two couples for decades.

Because of her long service in the Second Artillery Corps, Su Huining was later awarded the rank of colonel, while her husband was a colonel.

Unfortunately, in the year that Su Huining's brother Su Hansheng died, her beloved husband also died of illness. Two years before their deaths, she also lost her beloved mother, Chu Qing.

After the death of her parents, husband and second brother, Su Huining paid more attention to the inheritance of the family's spiritual property. As long as she was free, she told the younger generations about the heroic deeds of her father and brothers, and she also passed on the "Cross Technique" education method taught to her by her father Su Yu to the younger generations.

The "cross recipe" left by Su Yu is the ten words known to later generations: hardship, hard work, seriousness, tenacity, and bravery.

Today, Su Yu's descendants have always adhered to the Cross Recipe!
