Wei Yan's second appearance was after the Battle of Chibi, when Liu Bei attacked the Nine Counties of Hanzhong. The historical Wei Yan and the Romance of the Three Kingdoms are completely two people. Therefore, history has misinterpreted Wei Yan, and Zhuge Liang buried Wei Yan.
