CES2022: Samsung 89-inch MicroLED TV bezel-less high sound quality

If a typical 85-inch TV is too small, the projector is too dark — and you have the money to spend — you might be watching a MicroLED TV. These giant TVs use a new display technology, made up of millions of tiny LEDs, combined into wall-sized pictures. In 2021, Samsung is a pioneer in MicroLED TVs for commercial and residential use, starting sales of the 110-inch model last year for more than $150,000, and in 2022, the company is adding a new, slightly smaller 89-inch model.

In addition to the downsizing, Samsung has made some other improvements. There's a "new chip structure" for better color accuracy and a wider color gamut of 10 percent, as well as better audio with Dolby Atmos and the ability to "project audio to match the motion of objects on the screen," according to Samsung. The screen is also described as "borderless", so there are no visible edges, only pure picture. Other tricks include a multi-view mode that displays four different pieces of content at once — from any or all of the four HDMI inputs — and an art mode.

The modular design allows you to customize sizes up to 178 inches, although prefabricated sizes are limited to 89, 101, and 110 inches.

Samsung has not announced pricing or availability for its 2022 MicroLED TVs. However, for comparison with the smallest version, it is worth noting that the Samsung 85-inch QN90A QLED TV costs $3800. At the other end of the spectrum, rival LG is also selling MicroLED giant screens for up to 325 inches and $1.7 million. Samsung isn't the only business that offers huge screens to the wealthy.
