On January 3, BYD Automobile announced that it sold 93,945 new energy vehicles in December, compared with 28,841 units in the same period last year; the cumulative sales volume for the whole year of 2021 was 603783 units, an increase of 218.3% year-on-year.
In December, the company's new energy vehicle order demand continued to be strong, maintaining a sustained growth momentum; affected by the epidemic in Xi'an in late October, the output of the company's Xi'an automobile production base was affected to a certain extent, and the production of the Xi'an base has basically returned to normal.
Compared with the new domestic car-making forces, BYD has belonged to the first camp in the domestic new energy vehicle camp, and the sales of new energy in a single month have been higher than the annual sales of Weilai and Ideal Automobile.
Tesla's global delivery volume this year is 936172, ANDD alone in the Chinese market, has reached 2/3 of Tesla's volume, the market competitiveness is strong.
Last year and this year, BYD blade battery and DM-i super hybrid technology was released, and then, BYD new energy vehicles completely broke out, DM models were in short supply, EV models were also selling in full swing, the annual target has been exceeded, and the popularity exceeded BYD's expectations.
Earlier, BYD Chairman Wang Chuanfu revealed that at present, BYD DM-i platform models have orders of up to 200,000 units in hand, and the average delivery period of vehicles has been as long as 4 months, which shows the popularity of BYD DM-i models.
BYD has also said that its cumulative order volume this year may reach 900,000 vehicles, but the delivery capacity is only 700,000-750,000 vehicles, and the remaining orders can only be extended to next year.
With the blade battery production lines of Qinghai, Xi'an and Chongqing Phase II factories put into operation, the vehicle production capacity is expected to accelerate the release, BYD said that next year's delivery is expected to reach 1.5 million vehicles.
