According to the latest deliveries in 2021 announced by NIO, 10,489 new vehicles were delivered in December, a slight decline of 3% month-on-month. Cumulative deliveries for the full year were 91,429 units, up 109% year-on-year. This data performance is slightly ahead of the ideal car (90,491 units), but compared with Tesla, there is a significant gap. According to the data, Tesla's domestic deliveries from January to November were 250,000 units, and Weilai's annual delivery volume was only 36.5% of Tesla's January-November.
At present, NIO's delivered models include ES8, ES6 and EC6, covering the high-end new energy market of 350,000-620,000 yuan. Judging from the previous sales data, the ES6 is still the brand's main sales model, with monthly sales of more than 5,000 units. Sales of the ES8 and EC in June were around 2,000 units and 3,000 units, respectively.
In terms of new cars, at the NIO DAY on December 18 last year, NIO's new sedan ET5 announced the price, using a battery rental plan for only 258,000 yuan, which is cheaper than Tesla Model 3 (starting at 276,740). The car continues the design style of THE ET7, with dual motors as standard and a 150kWh battery pack model with a range of more than 1000km. According to the plan, ET5 will be delivered in September this year, while the higher-positioned ET7 will start delivery on March 28, and the addition of two new models is expected to help the brand's sales rise.
