Wu Zetian was the only orthodox female emperor in Chinese history, and during her reign, she introduced many innovative policies and measures in the selection and appointment of talents, boldly employing and cherishing talents.

Her famous female official Shangguan Wan'er was the daughter of a chancellor who was killed by Wu Zetian, but Wu Zetian found that Shangguan Wan'er was outstanding in literature, so he trusted and reused it very much, and many things that approved the reading of the chapter and drafted the edict were entrusted to Shangguan Wan'er. When Xu Jingye rebelled, King Luo Bin once wrote a poem against Wu Zetian, and his pen was sharp. Wu Zetian saw it, and his first reaction was not to be angry, but to deeply regret that such a talent had not been discovered and reused in time.

Of course, there have also been some small episodes in the wide range of appointments. An illiterate baker named Hou Sizhi also obtained an official position through whistleblowing. Of course, behind it was only used by Wu Zetian.
