Where is Yang Guifei?

"The Yang family has a daughter who has just grown up and is raised in a deep boudoir." This little girl born in Sichuan, in any case, did not expect that in the future, she would compose a love affair with the emperor of the Tang Empire, although this love affair began very disgraceful, but it did not prevent their story from becoming a song for eternity, but it was bitter to another person.

Where is Yang Guifei?

Tang Xuanzong's own favorite concubine died, and he could not bear the grief in his heart so he snatched the princess of his son Li Mao. Speaking of which, Li Mao and Yang Yuhuan's first acquaintance was still relatively romantic, when it was Li Mao's big wedding to his mother's sister Princess Xianyang. Princess Xianyang married Yang Huan, the son of Yang Shenjiao, who surrendered himself from the Hongnong Yang clan, and the reason why Yang Yuhuan was invited to participate in this wedding was precisely for this reason, Yang Yuhuan was also from the Hongnong Yang clan.

Li Mao fell in love with Yang Yuhuan at first sight at his sister's wedding, so he told his mother, Concubine Wu. Concubine Wu Huifei sent someone to inquire about Yang Yuhuan's origins, and Li Mao was naturally the right person, so Concubine Wu Huifei went to Tang Xuanzong to ask for marriage, and soon Yang Yuhuan married Li Mao, the King of Shou.

We know that the Hongnong Yang clan is a first-class family and belongs to one of the five surnames and seven hopes. At that time, the concept of door valves was still quite heavy, and the world was proud to marry a woman with five surnames, even the prince was no exception. However, seriously speaking, Yang Yuhuan can only be regarded as a distant branch of the Hongnong Yang Clan.

The New Book of Tang contains: Emperor Xuanzong's noble concubine Yang Shi, the fourth grandson of Tongshou Wang of Sui Liang County. He migrated from Puzhou and became a Yongle person. And the "Book of Sui" also records: Yang Wang, Ziyuandu, Benhong Nonghua Yin people, Great-zu shun, migrated to Hedong.

Yang Yuhuan's seventh ancestor Yang Shun moved from Hongnong Huayin to Hedong and settled in Yongle, Puzhou, where Yang Shun's descendants later settled. Yang Yuhuan's great-grandfather Yang Wang was still a well-known number one figure, Yang Wang was known as a fierce fighter when he was young, and later began to read, very erudite, and was highly valued by Emperor Wen of Sui. Later, when the Sui Emperor succeeded to the throne, Yang Wangguan was promoted to the rank of Grand Master of Yinqing Guanglu, but after Yang Xuangan rebelled, he was jealous of the Sui Emperor and was demoted and released. After the great turmoil at the end of the Sui Dynasty, Yang Wang served as an official Shangshu around the emperor Yang Tong, who was supported by Wang Shichong, and Wang Shichong was proclaimed empress, and Yang Wang was still enabled. It was precisely because of this that Li Shimin ordered Yang Wang to be beheaded after pacifying Luoyang.

Where is Yang Guifei?

After that, the descendants of the Yang clan still settled in Yongle, Puzhou, so it seems that Yang Yuhuan's ancestral home is actually Puzhou Yongle, that is to say, Yang Yuhuan is a Native of Shanxi. However, Yang Yuhuan's birthplace is not Yongle, but Sichuan. Yang Yuhuan's father, Yang Xuanyan, served as the Shu Prefecture Sihu, a very small official position in charge of the households. Yang Yuhuan was born in Shuzhou (蜀州, in modern Chongzhou, Sichuan), but Yang Yuhuan did not live long in Shuzhou, and at the age of 11, Yang Xuanyan was imprisoned for his crimes and died in prison.

Yang Yuhuan was fostered to the home of Yang Xuanxuan, the third uncle of Shi Cao in Henan Province, and Yang Yuhuan began his life in Luoyang, where the seventeen-year-old Yang Yuhuan was invited to attend the wedding of Princess Xianyang and Yang Huan, and Li Mao, the King of Shou, fell in love with him at first sight. Soon, the two got married and lived a sweet and happy life, but later, in order to make Li Mao the prince, Wu Huifei designed to frame the prince Li Ying and others, and she was also scared to death. Concubine Wu Hui was Tang Xuanzong's favorite concubine, and as soon as she died, Tang Xuanzong, who was overly sad, did not think about tea and dinner, so he set his sights on his daughter-in-law Yang Yuhuan, and finally made Yang Yuhuan a noble concubine in 745.

Where is Yang Guifei?

Ten years later, in 756, the Anshi Rebellion caused Tang Xuanzong to abandon Chang'an and flee to Sichuan instead, passing through Ma Songyi, the soldiers mutinied, Yang Guifei's brother Yang Guozhong was killed, and Yang Guifei was also killed by Tang Xuanzong. At that time, Yang Guifei was only 38 years old.

Therefore, if we look at Yang Guifei's ancestral home, we can only say that it is Shanxi, and Sichuan is only her birthplace, Luoyang is the place where she once lived, and Chang'an is the place where she settled after marriage.

However, for Yang Guifei's life, there is also a more popular saying that it is a native of Rongzhou, Guangxi. The Yongle Canon and quan tang wen contain a "Monument to Yang Fei in Puning County, Rongzhou" about Yang Guifei, which was written by Xu Zizhen, the assistant teacher of the four disciplines of the Tang Dynasty. The content of it reads strangely, saying that Yang Guifei's nickname is Yuniang, a native of Rongzhou, and That Yang Guifei's biological father is named Yang Wei, which should be an ordinary family. Yang Guifei was born with a wonderful appearance, and when she was three years old, she was bought by Yang Kang, the military governor, to be an adopted daughter.

Where is Yang Guifei?

Yang Guifei studied with her two older brothers at Yang Kang's house, and was very clever, and was later learned by The Long Shi Yang Yan, who thought that this woman must be noble, so she forced Yang Kang to give Yang Guifei to herself. After Yang Yan's term of office expired, he took his adopted daughter Yang Guifei to Chang'an, and soon, Yang Guifei became the princess of Li Mao, the King of Shou, and the next thing is familiar to us.

Because of this inscription, Yang Yuhuan became a native of Rongzhou, Guangxi, and many people also took out Yang Yuhuan's love to eat lychees from Guangxi to prove it. It's just that the inscription is rough, not like it was done during the Tang Dynasty, more like it was done casually by later generations, and it is not enough to explain Yang Guifei's life.
