In 1955, the state held a ceremony to honor those who had made significant contributions to the war. However, Major General Qiu Wei died suddenly in an accident, everyone thought that this matter was too strange, was suspected of murder, and then the truth came out and made people sigh, what is the matter?
General Qiu was an old revolutionary, starting from joining the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army, successively participating in the agrarian revolution, the Long March, and so on, starting with the soldiers, getting a step by step promotion, and when the War of Resistance broke out in full swing, he appointed the commander of the first military sub-district of the Jin-Cha-Ji Military Region. The famous "Five Heroes of Wolf Tooth Mountain" are his soldiers.
General Qiu was known for being able to fight hard battles. In the Battle of the Hundred Regiments, encountering the enemy's elite troops, General Qiu led his army to kill the enemy bravely, and the Japanese army also released poison gas bombs to try to block, General Qiu led his army to engage the enemy in close combat, and finally completely annihilated the enemy.
After the Battle of the Hundred Regiments, the Japanese army launched a frenzied retaliation, that is, the "great sweep", and in September 1941, the Japanese army in north China directly dispatched more than half of the total strength to sweep the Jin-Cha-Ji base area. At that time, General Qiu was engaged in guerrilla warfare with the enemy, and when he sensed that the enemy was wrong, he immediately reported it to the chief, because there were nearly 7,000 Japanese troops active in the First Military Division, and the number and equipment were higher than our army, and the commander of the division immediately ordered the army and civilians to move to the Wolfa Mountain area.
Because the terrain of the Wolf's Tooth Mountain is dangerous, easy to defend and difficult to attack, and it is very convenient to conceal, after receiving orders from his superiors, General Qiu began to transfer the masses and troops, in order to cover the retreat of the troops and the people, leaving two squads of combat strength to rely on the terrain of the Wolf's Tooth Mountain to block.
Before leaving, General Qiu explained: "Comrades, the Wolf's Tooth Mountain has been handed over to you, and I hope you will stand still like the Wolf's Tooth Mountain!"
In the end, these warriors covered the main force and the successful retreat of the people, jumped off the cliff and committed suicide, which is the famous Five Heroes of Wolf's Tooth Mountain.
During the Liberation War, General Qiu participated in the Battle of Qingfengdian and the Battle of Shimen. At that time, Old Chiang ordered Luo Lirong to defend Shijiazhuang and asked him to withdraw his troops to Baoding, but Luo Lirong could only secretly cry bitterly, and our army decided to take Shijiazhuang with a single blow after obtaining this information.
At that time, General Qiu led the army to ambush in Qingfengdian, Luo Lirong's vanguard troops did not notice at all, in his noon fire cooking when General Qiu made a fierce blow, Luo Lirong saw that the situation was not good and immediately withdrew his troops, who knew that he encountered General Qiu, the hard stubble of the war, with the help of the nearby friendly forces, General Qiu finally annihilated 17,000 enemy troops, Luo Lirong was also captured, and directly liberated Shijiazhuang.
After the outbreak of the Korean War, General Qiu served as the commander of the 67th Army, and in the famous Jincheng counterattack, he annihilated 25,000 enemies in one fell swoop, and was awarded the rank of major general in the second year of his return to China.
In 1957 Chinese Qiu Wei, the first commander of the 65th Army of the People's Liberation Army, was stationed in Qingdao, and no one expected misfortune to happen. On the afternoon of August 19, General Qiu was fishing at the seashore, and when the tide was low, General Qiu saw that there was a huge reef over there, which was a good place to fish, so he came to be interested, took a few steps toward the sea, unconsciously, the sea water gushed back, and suddenly a fierce wave directly swept General Qiu into the sea, and the guards found that there was a call for help, but because the skull touched the reef and caused excessive blood loss, the medical staff did not save General Qiu's life.
The founding general encountered an accident, certainly not a trivial matter, so many people think that there must be a conspiracy, so according to the criminal case investigation, a public security cadre in order to restore the situation of the day, when the tide receded, also stood on the big reef, the result of the unfortunate thing repeated again, a turning wave also threw the public security cadre into the sea, heroically martyred. At this point, the case can be regarded as solved.
General Qiu was the first general to die after the award of the title, and his body was transported back to Beijing for a public ceremony. Three of the generals led the hearse and buried them in the Babaoshan Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery.
