On the morning of November 1, 1935, the Sixth Plenary Session of the Fourth Central Committee of the Kuomintang opened in Nanjing. At 7 o'clock in the morning, Sun Fengming, a reporter from the Chenguang News Agency, rushed to the meeting place. However, he was not allowed to enter the venue without a special interview card. It was not until 9:30 a.m., when the opening ceremony was over, that He Poguang, director of the interview department of the Chenguang News Agency, hurriedly sent a special interview certificate. Sun Fengming flew into the venue.

At this time, the members of the Central Committee lined up one after another to stand ready to take photos with Kuomintang President Chiang Kai-shek, Vice President Wang Jingwei, and others. However, Chiang Kai-shek, who had always been suspicious, found out before the meeting that Zhang Xueliang, Feng Yuxiang, Yan Xishan, Long Yun, and others had each brought two escorts, and he suspected that they had committed any misdeeds, so he temporarily decided not to participate in the group photo.
One hand did not attend the group photo, sitting in the middle of the front row was the second in command Wang Jingwei, everyone sat well, the size of the camera pointed at these people, the magnesium lamp just flashed, flashed a person in the reporter group, holding a revolver, shouting "Down with the traitor!" Aiming at Wang Jingwei three shots in a row, Wang Jingwei fell to the ground in response, and this person was Sun Fengming.
Sun Fengming aimed three shots at Wang Jingwei, one shot into the lower cheekbone in the outer corner of Wang Jingwei's left eye, one bullet penetrated his arm from the back, and one shot from the back to the side of the sixth and seventh thoracic spine. Wang Jingwei was shot and fell to the ground. Although Wang Jingwei was not killed on the spot, the bullet that hit Wang Jingwei's back and could not be removed eventually caused Wang Jingwei to die of poison in Nagoya, Japan, nine years later.
In the confusion, Wang Jingwei's guards returned fire, Sun Fengming was shot twice in the chest, fell to the ground, and searched for an opium smoke bubble from him that was preparing to commit suicide, but unfortunately he could not move at this time, in order to be able to dig out the confession from him, the doctor was ordered to inject him with a cardiotonic agent ten times an hour.

In the early morning of the next day, Sun Fengming's heart stopped beating and she was only 30 years old.
Sun Fengming, a native of Xiaohezi Village, Huangji Town, Tongshan, Jiangsu Province, grew up in a poor family and followed his father to the Kanto at the age of 16, but his father Sun Jikui was injured by the Japanese. After the 918 Incident, full of patriotic enthusiasm, he joined the Kuomintang 19th Route Army in Shanghai to resist Japan, and served as the acting company commander of the platoon. However, at that time, Chiang Kai-shek adopted a policy of non-resistance and sent his troops to fujian and Jiangxi to surround and suppress the Red Army, which made Sun Fengming very disappointed, and he felt that this was wrong in his bones, but the soldiers took obedience to orders as their duty, which made him very embarrassed. In order not to encircle and suppress the Red Army, he had to take off his military uniform and become a common man, looking for another way to resist the country.
After leaving the Nineteenth Route Army, Sun Fengming met Cui Zhengyao in Yizheng, she was a native of Yizheng County, beautiful, refused to marry the local rich family, and had similar interests with Sun Fengming, a poor soldier in Tongshan County, and married a couple with deep feelings.
Soon, Sun Fengming got to know the patriotic student Hua Kezhi, as well as Chen Weizi, He Poguang and other patriotic young people. At a gathering of friends, full of indignation at a series of losses of power and humiliation of the country since September 18, Sun Fengming made a generous statement: "Chiang Kai-shek represents the reactionary class and is also an agent of international imperialism in China. For such a person, if someone shoots him to death, it will be beneficial to the motherland and the people. After discussion, they decided to set up the Chenguang News Agency, which planned to assassinate Chiang Kai-shek as a cover as a journalist. In the Mid-Autumn Festival before Sun Fengming's event, Sun Fengming returned to Shanghai to bid farewell, and Cui Zhengyao, who was usually dressed in simple clothes and did not apply powder, was carefully dressed to greet him, with a graceful posture and a brilliant appearance. After the assassination incident, more than 100 people were arrested and most of them were brutally killed, including Sun Fengming's wife Cui Zhengyao and his 17-year-old sister Cui Zhengqi.
Before the uprising, the personnel of the Chenguang News Agency were evacuated, and Cui Zhengyao also went to Hong Kong to raise funds in order to arrange the lives of the volunteers and their families. After Sun Fengming's sacrifice, she endured grief, disregarded her personal safety and stepped forward to participate in the aftermath work, arrived in Shanghai by boat, and stayed at the Xinya Hotel.
Later, due to the arrest and confession of Gu Zifeng of the Chenguang Society, Cui Zhengyao was arrested at his residence. At night, Cui Zhengyao crashed into the prison wall and died at the age of 24.
In 1939, General Feng Yuxiang said with emotion at a meeting after the visit of the Kuomintang Central Committee: "Sun Fengming, this young man is really admirable, he has foresight. However, we killed people and went to prison, and we made Wang Jingwei the vice president of the Kuomintang. By now Wang Jingwei had fled and wanted to go to Nanjing to organize a traitorous government, and openly became a traitor who betrayed the country and sought glory. "We should cast a bronze statue of Sun Fengming to commemorate him."
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, sun Fengming was posthumously recognized as an anti-Japanese patriot by the instructions of the central authorities, and sun Fengming's mausoleum was built in his hometown of Huangji Town, Tongshan, and a monument was inscribed on the front of the monument: "On November 1, 1935, wang Jingwei was assassinated in Nanjing, and the anti-Japanese patriot Sun Fengming was killed" to commemorate this hero who hoeed off the traitor.
