In 1913, China, just over a year after the founding of the Republic of China, at this time only a week after the fall of the Qing Dynasty, for most ordinary people, still live a precarious life.
It was in this context that Hong Xuezhi was born in Jinzhai County, Anhui Province. Hong Xuezhi's family was very poor. So, like other poor children, at a very young age, Hong Xuezhi herded cattle for landlords to subsidize the family. When he grew up, he went to an apprenticeship - Hong Xuezhi's parents arranged his life path in this way: learn a craft, be a craftsman, at least have a guarantee.
In March 1929, the Red Army began to operate in Hong Xuezhi's hometown. This incident changed the trajectory of Hong Xuezhi's life. Hong Xuezhi made a decisive decision: to join the Red Army. From this time on, Hong Xuezhi's life began to become extraordinary, and at this time, Hong Xuezhi was only 16 years old. According to today's point of view, Hong Xuezhi is still a child.
After Hong Xuezhi joined the Red Army, he went from an ordinary soldier to a senior commander of our army after thousands of hammers and hundreds of tempers and nine deaths. Especially during the Liberation War, Hong Xuezhi was even more brilliant: in key battles such as the Liaoshen Campaign and the Battle of Crossing the River, Hong Xuezhi played an important role. Especially in the campaign to liberate Hainan Island, Hong Xuezhi served as the commander-in-chief and was responsible for the overall operation.
Because Hong Xuezhi is senior and has distinguished himself in battle, in 1955, when our army first conferred the rank of general, Hong Xuezhi was awarded the rank of general. Hong Xuezhi was born from the cold door to the founding general, which can be described as the noble son of the cold door.
Six-star admiral
In 1965, our army abolished the rank system. However, by 1988, our army had discovered the various advantages of the rank system, so it restored the rank system and awarded titles to active servicemen.
At that time, some of the founding generals had died, some had transferred to work outside the army, some had left home, and some were not suitable for being re-awarded because of their special positions in the military or health factors. Hong Xuezhi was the only founding general among the founding generals who was still in the army in 1988 and met the conditions for re-awarding. When the title was re-awarded, Hong Xuezhi was once again awarded the rank of general. Because the epaulettes of the rank of general are three stars, Hong Xuezhi was awarded the rank of general twice, so he was called "Six Star General", because of the uniqueness of "Six Star General", from which hong Xuezhi's legendary life can also be seen.
General family
In 2006, Hong Xuezhi died. However, his wife Zhang Wen is still alive and is already 100 years old. Hong Xuezhi and Zhang Wen met during the Red Army era. At that time, Zhang Wen was a female soldier in the Red Army, and around the time of the Long March, Hong Xuezhi and Zhang Wen met and had a good feeling for each other, and eventually became revolutionary partners.
Zhang Wen maintained the good qualities of revolutionaries: for example, in his later years, Zhang Wen donated a lot of family property to public welfare to help those in need.
Among the sons and daughters of Hong Xuezhi and Zhang Wen, two are the most famous: one is the eldest son, Hong Hu. Hong Hu did not join the army, but worked locally and also served as the governor of Jilin Province.
The other was his second son: Hong Bao. Hong Leopard can be described as a door tiger. Hong Bao joined the military as an adult and aspired to become a hero like his father. Hong Bao did inherit his father's genes, and in the army, because of his outstanding performance and courage to take responsibility, he was promoted many times, and later awarded the rank of major general.
