General Chen Zhengxiang made great contributions during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, and in November 1939, in the ambush battle of Loess Ridge, he commanded the artillery to resolutely fire artillery, killed Lieutenant General Norihide Abe of the Japanese Army stationed in North China, and achieved the highest standard of the Eighth Route Army since the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, chen Zhengxiang became famous in the Jin-Cha-Ji Military Region and became a meritorious commander in the fight against the Japanese army.
General Chen Zhengxiang, a native of Xinhua, Hunan, joined the Communist Party of China in January 1931 after joining the Communist Party of China at the age of 15, when he revolted in Xincheng, Jiangxi Province.
He served as a heavy machine gun squad leader, deputy platoon leader, platoon leader of the Red 22nd Army Special Service Battalion of the Red Army, platoon commander of the 34th Regiment of the 12th Division of the Red Fourth Army, machine gun company commander of the 103rd Regiment of the 35th Division of the Red 12th Army, and machine gun company commander of the 20th Regiment of the Red Third Army.
He participated in the first to fifth anti-encirclement and suppression operations, and in the ranks of the Red Army, he was known as a fierce tiger and fought very bravely.
In October 1934, he followed the Central Red Army on a 25,000-mile long march, and in February 1935, he served as the commander of the second battalion of the first regiment of the first division of the Red First Army, and in September, he was appointed as the deputy commander of the first brigade of the first column of the Shaanxi-Gansu detachment of the Red Army.

During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, he served as deputy regimental commander of the 685th Regiment of the 343rd Brigade of the 115th Division of the Eighth Route Army, the commander of the 1st Regiment of the 1st Detachment of the Jin-Cha-Ji Military Region, and the commander of the 1st Detachment of the Independent 1st Division of the Eighth Route Army.
In late September 1939, the North China Front of the Japanese Army carried out a major autumn and winter sweep of the Beiyue District of the Jin-Cha-Ji Border Region with the strength of two divisions and two independent mixed brigades, and the enemy Abe Norihide led an independent mixed brigade to invade the First Military Subdistrict of the Jin-Cha-Ji Military Region.
In the area of Yansuyan and Loess Ridge to resist the Japanese army, the commander of the Japanese army at that time was the commander of the Abe Norihide Brigade, who was the "flower of famous generals" of the Japanese army.
Specializing in new tactics and mountain warfare, on October 2, 1939, Abe Norihide had just been promoted to lieutenant general, eager to serve the emperor, and in mid-October, he led his troops to attack the Jin-Cha-Ji Border Region.
On November 7, the main force of the Japanese army slowly followed along the ditch east of the Loess Ridge, and the vanguard troops marched towards zhaitou, and after Chen Zhengxiang discovered the enemy's situation, he led a regiment to attack the enemy from the front, and while a regiment attacked the enemy head-on, the regiments participating in the battle also rushed to the enemy from other directions.
At 4 p.m., the Japanese suffered more than half of the casualties, and Chen Zhengxiang looked through the telescope from the telescope at the 793 height command post.
On the east-west mountain beam of the base of the South Mountain occupied by the Japanese army, there were three small hill bags protruding northward, and on the small hill in the middle were several enemy officers on warhorses and several attachés, and the officers were holding telescopes to observe in the direction of our 793 heights and Shangzhuangzi.
There was an independent small courtyard 100 meters away from here, and there were enemy officers with battle knives hanging in and out, and Chen Zhengxiang immediately judged that this independent courtyard must be the enemy's command post, and the small hill on the south side was the enemy's observation post.
He immediately ordered the artillery to open fire on the independent courtyard, the mortar company quickly entered the position, and the gunner Li Erxi was ready, firing 4 rounds of ammunition, accurately hitting the target.
At this time, the brigade commander, Lieutenant General Norihide Abe, was walking out of the courtyard and looking out with a telescope, when the shell exploded under his feet, killing Abe Norihide on the spot, and his intestines flowed out.
The next day, Japan's Tokyo News reported the unfortunate death of Norihide Abe, commander-in-chief of Japan's "Mongolian Army stationed in Tuntun Province," in the "sweeping" war in North China.
After the Jin-Cha-Ji Military Region received this news, it learned that the troops commanded by Chen Zhengxiang had killed Abe Norihide, and at once, the soldiers and people in the Liberated Areas rejoiced and thundered, and they were very encouraged.
During the Liberation War, Chen Zhengxiang served as the commander of the second column of the Jin-Cha-Ji Field Army, and participated in the battles of Suiyuan, Jinbei, Zhangjiakou, Zhengtai, Baobei, and Daqing Hebei.
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, in October 1950, he served as the first deputy commander of the Railway Corps of the Chinese People's Liberation Army.
In February 1954, he was appointed deputy chief of staff of the North China Military Region of the Chinese People's Liberation Army.
In March 1955, he became the deputy commander of the Beijing Military Region of the Chinese People's Liberation Army.
In September 1955, he was awarded the rank of founding lieutenant general.
Once, when he went to the Hebei Provincial Military Region to inspect the work, when the car drove to the vicinity of Baoding City, everyone was tired of sitting in the car, and the general instructed the driver to park the car on the side of the road to rest, and the driver found a shady place with trees, and after the general and his entourage got off the car, they sat on the side of the road to rest conveniently.
At this time, a group of drunken hooligans came out of Baoding City, they came to the national highway to hitchhike, saw two military vehicles parked on the side of the national highway, they came to ask for a ride, the two military vehicle drivers looked at them like hooligans, and said: "We are military vehicles, we are on a mission, it is inconvenient to carry others, you still wait for the bus to come!" ”
After saying that, the two drivers ignored them and turned to the side.
The hooligans used the strength of the wine to provoke trouble and shouted insults at the two drivers.
The general heard the noise and led the guards to rush over, and asked the hooligans sternly, "What are you?" Why insult our drivers? ”
The goons looked unconcerned, and a leader-like man stepped forward and said, "We are the ground snakes here, why?" Wanting to take your car and carry us on a ride, you two drivers are coaxing and not buying our tents, and I will teach them a lesson. ”
The general angrily rebuked: "Looking at your cynical appearance, is it not a good thing?" What qualifications do you have to ride in our car? Hurry up and get out of the way, less trouble in this. ”
The leader of the hooligans said arrogantly: "You are passing by foreigners, and you still want to go through with us, which has annoyed us and made your car unable to drive away, do you believe it?" ”
The general smiled coldly and said, "If you have any ability, let it out!" ”
The leader of the hooligans waved his hand, and the gang of hooligans swarmed with the strength of the wine. The general said to the guards, "Comrades, it is now your turn to test your usual training level, and teach these bastards a lesson fiercely." ”
The guards had long been unable to look down on the tyrannical behavior of the hooligans, and one by one they shook their fists and grabbed the gang of hooligans and fought with them, and after a while, the hooligans were defeated by the soldiers, all subdued, and crouched on the side of the road with their hands on their heads.
The general scolded: "You bastards, if you don't learn well all day, you just want to make trouble in society, and if you don't teach you a lesson, you don't know what to do." ”
The rogues were beaten to the point that their noses were blue and swollen, and they begged the general to forgive them.
The general continued: "Today, when I see that you have drunk wine, I will spare you for the time being, and I hope that you will take this as a warning, change from evil to righteousness, be a useful person to society, and stop fooling around in society, otherwise sooner or later you will all be the material for entering the classroom, will you all understand?" ”
The goons nodded their heads and said yes.
The general finally said: "The prodigal son will not change his gold, I hope you remember what I said, we still have something to do, hurry up and roll!" ”
The goons quickly slipped away with the rolling belt.
The general and the guards watched as they fled, and couldn't help but laugh.
